Master Kong, which opened in 2018, has quickly become a staple in Portland’s culinary scene by staying true to its mission of delivering delicious and affordable traditional Chinese cuisine. Its commitment to providing authentic dishes has earned it multiple accolades: 2018 : Master Kong was named Willamette Week’s Newcomer of the Year and was nominated for Restaurant of the Year by Eater Portland’s Eater Awards. It also made it onto The Oregonian’s 2018 list of Portland’s 10 best new restaurants. 2019 & 2020 : The restaurant was featured on The Portland Newspaper‘s list of the city’s 40 best inexpensive restaurants. 2025 : We earned another recognition, being included in Eater Portland’s 2025 list of Portland’s best affordable restaurants.
