Brewpub
Our original Public House has been a vibrant fixture of the downtown Bend, Oregon scene since 1988. Not only were our very first beers brewed here – think Black Butte Porter and Jubelale – but we quickly became a gathering spot for locals and visitors alike. While the beer speaks for itself through a total of 19 taps, our chefs also put the same quality and hand-crafted excellence into the cuisine. Our beer-centric menu features fresh ingredients, many sourced from local farmers, foragers and ranchers with whom the team has built strong relationships over the years. Most menu items are hand-crafted from scratch whenever possible, and several items are made with spent grain from the brewing process. Come visit us at Bend’s original brew pub and see where it all began.

I honestly think they just buy microwave meals from Costco and heat it up and charge $23. I got fish-n-chips and they were worse than Long John Silvers. Go here for beer, NOT food.

Our server EJ was spectacular and took care of our boy as best he could. I've heard the stouts particularly were good, and I'd say the pork rice bowl was a sleeper hit! Altogether, a great time amongst friends. Well done, Deschutes.

Frozen wings (more bone than meat), soft fries, the Nashville was comparable to a McDonald’s chicken patty, the elk burger was subpar. I get that you’re a bar so you serve bar food, but Jesus Christ don’t charge restaurant prices for bar food. The only decent thing was the plating, props to the chef for working with what they had. The service and aesthetics, which were delightful, are wasted. Up your game :/

The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, whether you’re stopping in for a drink or sitting down for a full meal. Service is friendly and keeps things running smoothly, even when it gets busy. The food overall is really good - plenty of options and everything we tried was flavorful and well-prepared. The only miss for me was the elk burger. It just didn’t quite hit the mark compared to everything else on the menu. That said, it wouldn’t stop me from coming back, because the rest of the food and the beer selection more than make up for it. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you’re looking for great brews and in BEND Oregon.
