Brewpub
Our original Public House has been a vibrant fixture of the downtown Bend, Oregon scene since 1988. Not only were our very first beers brewed here – think Black Butte Porter and Jubelale – but we quickly became a gathering spot for locals and visitors alike. While the beer speaks for itself through a total of 19 taps, our chefs also put the same quality and hand-crafted excellence into the cuisine. Our beer-centric menu features fresh ingredients, many sourced from local farmers, foragers and ranchers with whom the team has built strong relationships over the years. Most menu items are hand-crafted from scratch whenever possible, and several items are made with spent grain from the brewing process. Come visit us at Bend’s original brew pub and see where it all began.

This was arguably the best food ive ever gotten from a brewery, the smash burgers I got were the best a savory patty with perfectly melted cheese and alot of options. Our server, Porter is a great guy if you get him he has alot of good opinions if you ask really kind ans helpful and he was honest. I would totally come here alot if I lived here.

Salmon was way over cooked but kinda expected from a brewery. Fish and chips were also just okay. Fries were nothing special. Should have tried the cheeseburger. Atmosphere is great and of course the beer is also.

Absolutely delicious!!! The blackened salmon sandwich was so so good! Salmon was cooked and deboned perfectly. Their Love in Color sour ale was so tasty I had to buy 2 of their 4 packs to take with us back home! PLEASE get the huckleberry/strawberry mud pie, it is TO DIE FOR!

Boy, when I walked in this fine establishment I had the highest hopes and let me tell you, when beer arrived, my hopes were soaring. However, when the blackened salmon arrived, I was met with a brick of pure dehydration. It sucked the life from my very cheeks. That is the best description I can give. Thank the gods the beer was wet, because the fish was dry. 2/5
Ps the beer lady knows her beer.

If you’re in Bend, Deschutes Brewery is absolutely worth a visit. I don’t write many reviews—I usually only take the time when a place is truly exceptional—and this one earned it.
The beer was outstanding, as you’d expect. The anniversary Black Butte Porters were especially memorable: complex, rich, and something that felt genuinely unique.
The restaurant itself is beautiful, both inside and out. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and inviting, making it a great place to spend an evening.
The service was equally impressive. Everyone was prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful throughout our visit.
What surprised me most, though, was the food. I expected good brewery food, but what we got was far better than that. The house-made pretzel with beer cheese was absolutely delicious, and the pepperoni pizza had a perfectly crisp crust with plenty of gooey, flavorful cheese.
Overall, this was a 10/10 experience. Great beer, excellent food, beautiful atmosphere, and outstanding service. If you’re anywhere near Bend, don’t miss it.
