  This store now has digital pricing, which will be used to raise prices depending on the time of day. The feature will be enabled within the next year. I advise those to support a different store, plus Safeway Is very expensive.

  I tried to communicate directly with the store via the chat to provide this feedback, but the bot could not understand it, so I will post here. This is our neighborhood Safeway, and we've had some good experiences here, hence the two stars, but this evening was a big negative. Chatting with Virtual Assistant for Safeway 09:53 pm I want to provide some feedback for the order that we placed at 7:13 p.m. this evening. The order was indicated to be ready between 8:00 and 8:05 p.m. the order was delayed a couple of times, and we indicated substitutions for staple items that were out of stock. However the shop was ended without acceptance of these substitutions. When my husband arrived at the store after receiving the email that the order was ready, the link had expired and he was told via the Safeway app chat he had to call the store. When he called the store, the employee seemed irritated that he was there, and stated that the reason the order was delayed was due to all of our substitutions and having to run around the store to get them. The statement was made, "What did you expect, we close at 8:00." There were no substitutions provided. Then after he went in to the store, he saw our order labels put in the garbage can with my name on it and the time it was due to be ready which was 7:54 p.m. The order was picked up at 9:06 pm and he went there just as soon as it was ready. He was treated extremely rudely and blamed for placing an order too late. The store is open till 12:00 midnight and we had no idea that the pickup window was cut off several hours earlier than that. Truthfully, had we received a message via the app or the store that the order was too late, and could not be picked up until the morning, that would have been okay, but the app did not indicate that. Now my baby must go without milk because no milk was provided in the order, and we are going to have to find another solution for that and several other staple items like ground beef, salmon, and a cheddar cheese block in the morning anyway. Again, we thought we were treated very rudely, and we would have been much more understanding if we had been communicated with. We shouldn't have been personally blamed if the app accepted an order past when they wanted to accept them.

  Our cashier Kirk was quite rude. I would not recommend shopping at this store.

  There’s no human to check you out before 9 AM. Self check out is the only option and if you’re having a rough morning like a headache or you need to grab something from the health aisle, you need a live human helping you out. I would’ve just done Amazon, but it was something that I needed so you’re sitting there trying to hunt and pack for your item on the checkout screen. Meanwhile, there’s a plethora of humans walking around or just standing around so it’s not because people don’t wanna work or there’s not someone there to help you safely just doesn’t want to designate a human to help you before 9 AM and don’t say that the lady that stands there monitoring all six self checkouts is there to help you actually there’s gotta be like 12 self checkout lines

  I have been a customer of Safeway for decades all across Oregon and been a customer when this store was under the Albertsons name and always had a positive experience here. This all changed when I encountered the absolute worst management person by the name of Mary B. It's always a Grinch vibe I get with each encounter. I've also overheard how she interacts with the other staff members and couldn't imagine how it affects them with such a hostile attitude. I just recently was told by her that your store isn't able (so she says) to sell rolls of coins etc anymore. I went to the Safeway on TV Highway immediately after and was able to do it. In my humble opinion a toxic person as MB should be removed from any position of management. I have certainly decided to avoid this store in the chance encounters with well you know who.
