Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
I've eaten at lots of Whataburger hundreds of times but this was perhaps one of the slowest establishments. The fires were decent, the spicey chicken sandwich was not as crispy good and the spicy bacon burger didn't seem as fresh and delicious as usual. It was lunchtime and perhaps the staff was over whelmed.

Saw the sign from the turnpike. Drove 2 miles to get to it. Waited 10 minutes to order then another 30 minutes for food. Staff was looking at phones and telling stories instead of making sure chicken patties and fries were cooking. Do not leave the turnpike for this.

There's mold in the ice machine mouth piece, it attached to some of my ice which is how I realized it was there. And fries are cold

This Whataburger stays very busy in the evenings with lines usually around the building. We never waited a long time going through the drive through. The nice thing about them being busy is the food is always hot and fresh. I know what to expect when we go there so we are prepared to wait. I would rather wait a few for fresh and hot food then food that's been setting in a warmer.
The people at the window have always been nice and professional and we can always rely on the good food.
I have a lot of favorites there, so I can't pick just one.

Grilled chicken sandwich has sauce dripping from the sandwich. Ordered a kids meal and didn't get the fry. Order was handed out the window and walked off. Knocked on the window to let them know the order was missing fries and no one came to the window. It was like the entire staff had disappeared to the back. The food was fresh!
