I stopped into this Qdoba on Cinco de Mayo when I witnessed one of the rudest customer interactions I’ve ever seen. A guy ahead of me ordered a bowl and politely asked the staff to wrap it as a burrito so he could use the $5 promotion. They did it, but made their annoyance obvious. When he joked that he was probably not the first person switching that night, the manager gave a sarcastic “You’re the first.” The customer mentioned it was dark outside when he came in, and the employee sharply replied, “Smart people do” after he questioned the sign. The whole exchange was condescending and uncalled for. This location really needs better training.

I witnessed one of the most unnecessarily rude customer interactions I’ve ever seen at this location on Cinco de Mayo. A customer came in and originally ordered a bowl before realizing there was a $5 burrito promotion going on. He politely asked if they could just wrap the bowl into a burrito so he could get the deal instead. Simple request. The staff acted annoyed immediately, even though it was obviously a common situation during a promotion like that. The customer stayed calm and even joked that he was probably not the first person asking for it that night. The manager responded with a sarcastic attitude, saying, “Yep, you’re the first.” When the customer said he didn’t notice the sign outside because it was dark, an employee named Jocelyn jumped in and said, “Smart people do.” The way she said it was blatantly disrespectful and clearly meant to insult him. You could feel the awkwardness in the restaurant after that comment. The customer never raised his voice, never got aggressive, and was actually far more patient than most people would’ve been. Watching employees openly mock and belittle someone over a simple question was honestly embarrassing for the business. If this is the kind of attitude management allows, people should seriously think twice before eating here.

I’m a regular here. I come in all the time especially at night. Last night I came in because it was Cinco de Mayo and they were having a five dollar burrito promotion. My visit was amazing per usual but I just wanted to give a quick shoutout to the night crew. They handled a tough situation really well and stayed calm and professional the whole time. There were a few “Karens” (grown men) yelling at the young girls. They were even belittling them for working in fast food. Despite that, those kids stayed calm, polite, and completely professional the entire time. That kind of composure is not easy, especially under pressure like that. The staff is consistently respectful and hardworking. You always hear from the miserable people when something goes wrong, but not nearly enough about when things go right. So I just wanted to put a good word in for them again. They handled themselves better than most adults would have, and they deserve recognition for it.

I saw a customer come in on Cinco de Mayo and noticed a $5 burrito promotion after already ordering a bowl. He asked if the contents could be wrapped into a burrito instead, which the staff did, but reportedly with a noticeable attitude. He tried to keep things light and joked about probably not being the first person to do that. The manager responded that he actually was, which made the interaction a bit awkward. When the customer questioned how he would have known about the promotion, the manager pointed to a sign outside. The customer mentioned it was dark when he arrived and made a comment about people not really reading signs in restaurants, to which a staff member replied, “Smart people do” all the customers in the store thought it was unnecessary and it was rude.

I eat out at least once a day, and these were the most rude employees I have ever dealt with. I came in on Cinco de Mayo and discovered there was a $5 burrito promotion. I had ordered a bowl, but once I realized the deal, I politely asked if they could wrap the bowl contents into a burrito to take advantage of the special. They did it, but the attitude was palpable. Still, I stayed friendly and even joked, “I’m probably not the first person tonight doing this, right?” The manager replied, “Yep, you’re the first.” It felt awkward, but I stayed polite and asked, “Well, how would I know?” The manager said there was a sign outside. I pointed out it was dark when I walked in and said something like, “Who reads signs in restaurants anymore?” That’s when a staff member—Jocelyn—said, “Smart people do.” That comment was insulting and unnecessary. I expected better professionalism. I hope this location works on respect toward customers.
