Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

The down side is, every other person within the tristate area had the same idea, as they were slammed busy, both inside the restaurant, as well as the drive thru. I was probably the 10th car in line, and total wait time was around 30 minutes. I'd also ordered a chicken bites kids meal, but ended up with a 9 piece nugget bowl by itself, plus it was pricey at $9.19 for the nuggets. It was my bad for not checking the order first, but by that time, I was exhausted and just wanted to get home and go to bed. Now, for the positives...there was a reason that this particular Whataburger was so busy. It's because it almost always is that busy because the food is made to order, hot and cooked to perfection. I alternate between getting breakfast taquitos or biscuits and gravy or a cheeseburger and onion rings. If you've not been to a Whataburger before, buckle up sugah (it originated in Texas, so pardon my Southern 😉)! It rivals burger houses, good old fashioned, made fresh and to your liking, never under a heat lamp and so good, it's ridiculous. Not your typical fast food, it's ten times better than the biggest fast food company in the US, and the price is comparable to the clown's prices, as well! It's quite rare that they've gotten our order wrong, but it can and does happen. Check the order, and you should be good to go! Their menu is always evolving and if you get a chance, their specialty limited time release milkshakes are to die for!
