Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

- ARAX RodriguezSep 24, 20261.0I had a very disturbing experience at this Whataburger location on Tuesday, September 22, around 6:30 PM. While I was there, I personally witnessed the manager questioning customers who were picking up orders about whether they spoke English, whether they could spell, and whether they could properly pronounce customers’ names. His comments and the manner in which he was speaking to people came across to me as racially targeted and completely inappropriate. What bothered me most was watching him specifically direct this behavior toward a woman who was simply there picking up an order. She appeared not to realize what was happening, but I was standing nearby and heard the interaction. She had done absolutely nothing to warrant being spoken to that way. I do not know the manager’s full name, but he was the white male manager working at approximately 6:30 PM that evening. I am providing the exact date, time, and location so management can identify who was on duty and review the incident. Regardless of someone’s accent, English proficiency, ability to pronounce a name, or background, nobody should be mocked, belittled, or singled out while simply trying to pick up an order. I hope Whataburger takes this seriously and investigates what occurred.
