Bob's Pizza in Greentown is a family favorite here, but after my last visit, I will not be coming back.
No, I am not a Karen!
Last couple of times, when came to pick up my order, there was a significant amount of horseplay going on among the employees. I understand that many of them are young and that work SHOULD be fun, so no harm. However, this last trip in, what I witnessed went far beyond harmless joking. Some of the behavior directed toward one / two employees was highly inappropriate and bordered on sexual harassment.
What was even more astounding was that a manager was standing right there and did absolutely nothing to address the situation. The the one kids face when this was happening made my heart sink. A workplace should be fun, but also should be professional, respectful, and safe - For employees and the customers, regardless of their age and that didn't feel safe. For me to watch and for the young man who was taking most of the abuse. And that is exactly what that was.
Business owners should remember that customers notice far more than just the food! Bob's has fantastic food. But the way the employees interact, with customers and other employees, Will significantly affect a business.
The way employees are treated and the overall atmosphere the last few times I have been there, is leaving a lasting impression for me and I'm sure that kid will never forget how he felt when a much older woman watched him being bullied by coworkers, and she did nothing! That's right! I didn't say a word, because I am non confrontational, but this hasn't left my mind. I have thought about it over and over again and have tried to find the owners info to contact about this situation. Because clearly you cannot go to the manager about this. He let it go on. So I came to write a review, In hopes that the owner will see this and address it. I feel terrible I didn't stand up for this boy.
Unfortunately, the environment I witnessed during this visit was uncomfortable.
As someone who has visited often and become familiar with many of the employees over time, this experience changed my opinion of the business. I hope ownership takes a closer look at what is happening when management is present and chooses not to intervene. Someone needs to address this. I hate to see people lose their jobs, however this is absolutely unacceptable.
