  Went there as a party of 8 on Mother's Day. Wasn't a bad wait and the service was excellent. The food was absolutely delicious and very large portions. It was worth every cent, and I ended up taking a little over half my meal home. They also have outdoor seating with a view of the river and you can take a walk along the river before and/or after your meal directly walking out the back door. 100% recommended.

  I went yesterday with my wife for cinco de mayo. Food was just horrible. I've literally been to every mexican restaurant in toledo and I promise you, this is the worst food in toledo. Just bad. Great atmosphere and great beautiful place to be but that's it. My waitress brought my wife a margarita with LESS than a shot of tequilla. It tasted alcoholess. My waitress denied my drink from the bar and said it was too busy for them to serve. I kid you not she said that. I settled for a flat beer draft. While my wife and I were trying to fake our enjoyments with our drinks, we asked our waitress if she could put our food order in after we drank our drinks and she said no, they can't do that. This place is a joke. I will never go back there again. Horrible service.

  I'm not sure why the restaurant raiting isn’t better than the current 4.1 stars. I really enjoy Mexican food and I've been to many Mexican restaurants in toledo. In my opinion El Vaquero is the best. I brought my family. My wife and two boys. My wife almost always complains about something when I bring her to a Mexican restaurant. Not this time though. Her meal was amazing. She had a shrimp salad. The salad was extremely fresh and the shrimp, cooked to perfection. My youngest son is autistic and he almost never eats at a restaurant due to the crowd. This time however. We had a table outside and he ate everything. My self and my other son had the supreme burrito plate. Chicken was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of spice. Most Mexican restaurants use a canned chicken. Not El Vaquero's. This chicken tastes fresh. I'll definitely be returning. I do however have to mention one bad thing. My fork and my glass was dirty. Luckily we had an amazing waitress who gave me a clean fork and was willing to take my drink off the bill. I still paid for it, but it was nice she was willing to remove it from the bill. So yes. For me. Best Mexican restaurant in toledo.
