The service was slow because the staff (two men )were having a personal conversation behind the counter. The presentation of our food was not up normal standards as well . Very sloppy

Just had our usual small cones. Really like the restaurant, great atmosphere! The staffing was an issue today. For 2 small cones it took about 12 minutes. While not a long wait, about 4 times longer than the older location. More training of staff should solve this and possibly cross trading for everyone that deals with the public.

They got it wrong the first time so we went back through the drive through to get it fixed. When they handed it through the window it was overflowing and melted and spilled all over us and the car 😬 the people were nice the experience was not I’m sorry

I love stopping by here whenever I need a quick and easy treat. You really can't go wrong with their soft serve, and the food menu is surprisingly good for a fast-food spot—the burgers are always cooked well and taste fresh. It's a reliable, fun place to grab a bite, and the service is generally quick even when they're busy. Definitely a solid choice for a casual lunch or a late-night snack!

This place would have gotten four or even five stars if it weren't for a very unfortunate experience I had which I will mention later in this review. First, let me list the positives: This is West Toledo's/Sylvania's first full service Dairy Queen, and this is a promising replacement for what used to be at this location, a long-loved neighborhood hotspot that was Steak N Shake. My first experience here was on opening night when I ordered a double cheeseburger. The food was hot, wrapped perfectly, and I could tell immediately they were using never-frozen beef. The burger was simple but delicious; easily the best fast-food experience I'd had in years. To top it off I ordered a cookie-dough blizzard which was cold, fresh, and excellent as well. Five stars. This location offers all of the Blizzard favorites that long-time customers of the now shuttered DQ outlet just down the road from this location used to offer, in addition to many more. As stated previously in this review, this is a full-service DQ and so new customers can expect not only an expanded food menu but also a wider selection of ice cream, frozen coffee, milkshakes, and custard. The food choices are typical of most fast-food joints these days: Burgers, fries, chicken (deep fried, tenders), but to my (short-lived) delight and surprise, popcorn shrimp as well!!! And so it was my second visit to this location, and the previously mentioned menu item which unfortunately garnered a lower review than a previous me, the me that had just eaten there the one time, would have posted. So let's talk about the elephant, or rather, shrimp in the room. There was nothing wrong with the deep-fried breading (that was done impeccably-well, actually). There was nothing wrong with the shrimp itself -- it was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The problem arose when I heard my mother's voice in my head command me to check for the one thing I should have checked before I had ever popped a single one of those deliciously crispy little ocean-floor dwelling crustaceans into my mouth: "Alex... Are you out of your mind?! Check and see if it's clean before you eat that!!!" And so, dear readers, we've come to the issue at hand. The issue, which, every mother who's ever cooked shrimp for her family already knew would be the problem as soon as the read the part of my review which named the menu-item in question: The dreaded mud-vane. The so-called "mud-vane," is of course the shrimp's intestinal tract running from the base of its tail to its... Well, you know... And if you don't know, dear reader, I'll spare you the details here and allow you to Google it at your convenience. The point is, NONE of the shrimp had been de-vaned. De-vaned shrimp is the standard at any reputable sea-food joint, but as many of the more culinary-aware readers will know, even de-vaned shrimp you buy at the supermarket still contains some gunk (usually towards the tip of the tail), and so I'm sure by now many readers are thinking, "Oh, he must mean there was just a little gunk left at the very end of the fish; surely DQ purchases de-vaned shrimp, and he should know better than to eat the whole thing anyway!" If that had been the case, dear reader, I never would have bothered to write this review and this new DQ location at West Monroe between Talmadge and Whiteford would have enjoyed a four or even five star review. No, to my great dismay and even disbelief, not a single shrimp had been de-vaned, either in whole or in part, and I have provided the evidence in a photo below. I sincerely hope DQ will read my review and make a change. And when they do, I will happily come back and upgrade my star rating. Now, some may be saying to themselves, "Who cares?" And if that's you, that's fine! Not everyone de-vanes their shrimp, and that's OK. My review is not for those people: Instead it's for those like my mother, who would be horrified to learn the muddy truth...
