I had not been to this location in probably 15 years but remembered always liking it, and overall the food absolutely lived up to my memories. It’s a fairly standard Mexican restaurant menu, but the appetizer our server recommended was fantastic. The queso, bean dip, and guacamole combination may honestly have been one of the best I’ve had.
The food also came out reasonably quickly, so no complaints there at all. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that this is a very open restaurant and sound carries badly. There was a large girls’ sports team there during our visit, and the noise level became so loud at times that it was difficult to hear the person sitting directly across from me.
Unfortunately, once our meals arrived, service became extremely slow.
We waited quite a while just trying to get our server’s attention for to-go boxes and the check. However, we saw him so infrequently that it was next to impossible. I actually ended up going up to the counter and grabbing my own to-go box. Two nearby tables that had arrived well after us finished their meals, paid, and left before we were even able to get our bill. When the check finally arrived, I had also been incorrectly charged for a basic soda-machine seltzer water, which needed to be fixed.
In the end, what should have been a fairly quick dinner stretched into nearly 1 hour and 45 minutes, with a large portion of that time spent simply trying to pay and leave. The food itself was excellent, but I would not recommend this location if you are on any kind of schedule afterward.
