  We went here today to try out this newer store, we typically shop at Giant Eagle. The positive is the isles are wide and the store feels spacious because it is. When we got home we noticed the tomatoes we bought in a package were over half rotten so we had to throw them away. We also had a few bad apples in the bag we purchased and had to throw a couple of them away. All and all we saw no improvement in quality or overall pricing. A few items were less expensive and some were more expensive.

  Seriously, this store is the nicest one around and not a lot of people are aware because 42 is still closed.

  Love this Kroger in Plain City. I will drive past another Kroger to go to this one. Plain city is always stocked unlike my neighborhood Kroger.

  On Sunday, the day before Memorial Day, I stood in line for about 15 minutes to checkout. I don’t mind waiting as I really don’t like self checkout. Just as my wife and I had half of our $400 worth of groceries on the conveyor, the kid says sorry I’m closed and turned his light off.. That would have been nice to know before we started to unload our cart. The bagger said, “yeah, he’s off now”.. I get it, it was time to get off, but we were in line for at least 15 minutes prior to. It was 7:03 pm.. Maybe a manager should talk to the kids about customer service and how to handle those situations… I typically shop at the Kroger in Marysville but thought I’d come to the new one because it’s cleaner… but I guess I’ll stick with my old one where I know the cashiers and know that they look at customer service a little differently.. It was a bad look for Kroger this trip.. The lady behind was even more upset than us by the way..

  I wish they had at least a couple 10 items or less self checkouts. It’s crazy how people will use self checkout with a full grocery cart, when there are only three small self checkouts available. At least go to a conveyer belt! Have a couple regular checkouts available at all times. It’s just a mess, all the time. The meat department isn’t great. Do people actually purchase seafood here? It’s so bad, so bad. How long do they leave seafood in the case before tossing? Nothing is ever ‘fresh,’ and the prices are actually almost in line with Whole Foods. I realize a lot of the fish is previously frozen, but it sits out for way too long after being thawed. Don’t buy seafood here, you will not be happy. One of the shift managers, I think his name is Dan, needs some serious coaching in customer service.
