My daughter and I got together with my aunt, uncle, cousin, and her two kids for an event in North Royalton, and we decided to grab a quick lunch here since the kiddos could play.
My last experiences with McDonald's have been through the drive thru, so going in, seeing the kiosk was new to me upon eating in. We ended up figuring it out, placed our order, got our table tent, and went to the play place so the kids could play until the food came.
Well, we ASSUMED the food would be delivered to the table. I did not know for sure since this kiosk order thing was new to us. Maybe I shouldn't have assumed and asked, however there was nobody at the register (if you can even call it that), so it is what it is looking back on this pleasant experience. Maybe this decision to assume food delivery would make sense for the next encounter with these professional employees.
It took a while for the food to come, which is completely fine, the drive thru was busy. One of us was actually about to go to the front to get clarification on whether or not it would be delivered to the table. As we were going to walk up there, two workers came with our food to the play area, where the table tent was clearly displayed.
Not a word was spoken, cool, doesn't matter since it's just a quick hand off, we just want to get the ravenous toddlers fed. However, what stood out to me the most was the lovely young woman with a pony tail, hoop earrings, and a pink star sticker on her chin. She aggressively slammed down my aunt's bottle of water in front of her, and stormed away. Extremely off-putting and weird.
Again, we're with 3 kids. My cousin's son ended up knocking his chicken nuggets on the ground. Kids don't stop moving. It was an accident. Obviously she's not going to feed her kids nuggets that fell on the floor. My uncle went to see if they'd replace the nuggets - they made him pay. Again, whatever, it's a business, I get it, but come on. You made him pay? How much do these nuggets really cost you as a business?
I wouldn't even be posting this review is this was the worst thing that happened.
As the kiddos were eating and playing, the lovely, gum smacking young lady with the pony tail, hoop earrings, and pink star sticker on her chin proceeded to "clean," and I'm going to use the term "clean" loosely. She did a single wipe of most of the tables, smacked her gum, moved a broom around, and angrily took trash out. Honestly it was kind of funny that she was so mad. Not sure what happened to ruin her day, but I sincerely hope she is in a better mood living her life outside of McDonald's.
I would have ignored ALL OF THIS until my cousin pointed out that the milk MY DAUGHTER and her kids had already FINISHED DRINKING was expired. Sure, it expired yesterday, May 29, but this is a restaurant. They should not be serving anything that's expired.
What else is expired?
Once we were done with our delightful food and the kids were done playing, my daughter needed to use the restroom before we got in the car. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. No words needed. Just look at the photos.
My aunt and I decided to bring the expired milk to the staff's attention, and after standing there for what seemed like 5 minutes because the lovely young woman with the pony tail, hoop earrings, and pink star sticker on her chin was actually taking a lovely older gentleman's order, so she clearly was busy, we decided to be more assertive and speak louder to get the attention of the kitchen staff in the back. They couldn't have looked more bothered to talk to us. I explained the situation with the expired milk, and that they should probably check the rest of the milk that they're giving out to children, and all the woman said was "OK" and walked away.
I doubt there was a manager there because when we asked for one, nobody came out, so we left.
