  This place needs some love. We went in there on a Saturday night and it was empty and I have no idea why. Food and service was great.

  My fiancé and I were out and about looking for a spot to have lunch on Monday afternoon and actually planned to go to Iron Chef but didn’t realize they were closed on Mondays (a lot of other places are too, turns out). We found Van Java on Google and decided to give it a shot. We ended up being the only customers at the time so we had the undivided attention of our lovely waitress! We ordered the crab Rangoon, the shrimp tempura roll, and the steak and shrimp hibachi with zucchini and mushrooms (it costs extra for vegetables). The food. Was. AMAZING. I’ve had a lot of crab Rangoon in my life and this was probably the best I’ve ever had. It came out piping hot, super fresh, and had great flavor. The shrimp tempura was still hot from the fryer and the California roll was nice and refreshing. The hibachi was absolutely the star of the show. Normally when I get hibachi I smother it in whatever sauces they offer but this hibachi didn’t need ANYTHING on it. Whoever they have back in the kitchen is an amazing cook. We are from out of town but we will definitely be coming back. This was the best meal I’ve had in awhile. My only suggestion would be to add more sushi options- just based on what I had, they could make a killing on sushi!

  Be careful when ordering online. What is shown in the photo is NOT what is included in the meal. Read EVERYTHING. most items are sold separately so double check what youre getting. 80 dollars and half of our meals
