- CMChris MullerJun 24, 20263.0I want to start by saying the cashier who helped me was fantastic. I had an order with a lot of modifications, and she rang the whole thing in without hesitation, no questions, just a smile, and got every part of it correct. That's harder than it looks, and she made it easy. Genuinely one of the better front-counter experiences I've had at a Dunkin'. Unfortunately, what happened next is why I'm not rounding up. After I'd set my food down and stepped away for a moment, the owner asked to see my receipt because she didn't believe I'd actually paid. Once I showed it, she noticed an item had been rung up incorrectly (I'd gotten an extra egg on my sandwich) and proceeded to correct the employee about it right there at the counter, in front of me and everyone else waiting. I was then called back up to pay the additional charge. To be clear, I have zero problem paying the extra $1.25 for the egg. That's not the issue. The issue is that a coaching moment was turned into a public one. The employee, who had otherwise done a great job, looked mortified, and it made the whole situation awkward for the customers standing there too. A quick word in the back would have handled it without embarrassing anyone. The food and coffee are what you'd expect from any Dunkin', so that's not really a differentiator. The staff here seem genuinely good at their jobs. I just hope they get the kind of support and private feedback that lets them shine, because the talent is clearly there.
