  I cannot recall ever having a bad experience at this place. The food and drinks are always perfect, the service is always phenomenal, and the atmosphere is just right. No matter if I've brought clients here, or reuniting with some great friends it's always a great, relaxing evening. Keep up the exceptional work!

  Mile was an excellent server and bartender, and the manager Michael was phenomenal. We came for a quick date night dinner and ended up staying for 2 hours! The atmosphere was so comfortable and peaceful, the food was cooked perfectly, truly one of our favorite dining experiences we’ve had so far this year! Additionally, we’re excited to spend my fiancés birthday here, they have a perfect private room, and even provided a tour after our dinner. I highly recommend!

  Never had a bad experience. Staff go over and above to accommodate every request. The manager ALWAYS stops by to see how the meal is... and will quickly go into action to make it right. I frequent J. Gilbert's one to two times a week... the request I've made they couldn't accommodate is a Raccoon... go figure. Well managed operation.

  Absolutely outstanding experience at J. Gilbert’s. My wife and I came in for a date night and everything from the food to the service to the atmosphere was fantastic. We started with the crab cake appetizer, which was phenomenal and set the tone for the entire meal. For dinner, I had the 14 oz Kansas City strip with au gratin potatoes and green beans, while my wife had the 8 oz filet with whipped potatoes and broccoli. Both steaks were cooked perfectly. The quality of the meat was excellent, the potatoes were outstanding, and even the vegetables were prepared incredibly well. There wasn’t a weak part of either plate. Our server Kailee was elite. Attentive, knowledgeable and professional without constantly hovering over the table. The service matched the quality of the food, and the atmosphere was upscale and comfortable without feeling stuffy or overly formal. We finished with espresso and carrot cake for dessert, and once again, both were excellent. Our total was about $179 for the crab cake appetizer, two steak dinners with sides, carrot cake and two espressos. It certainly isn't an inexpensive dinner, but considering the quality of the food, service and overall experience, we felt like we got what we paid for. One of the best dinners we've had in Columbus. We will absolutely be back. I'd recommend getting a reservation. We arrived at 5:15 and when we were leaving, there was a lot of people waiting for a table

  We don't go to upscale restaurants that often. But she married me 43 years ago so we decided to celebrate. J.Gilbert's it is. Made a reservation for dinner about a week in advance and yes, told them it was our anniversary. We got there a few minutes early. They got us seated right on time. Nice little card and decorations on the table to celebrate us. Nice touch. Monika came by with a smile, gave us a minute to look over the drink menu, brought us water and asked if we had questions. Drinks are ordered and they came quickly. We got a chance to finally look around and found it to be a very relaxing atmosphere. We could not resist the prime rib egg rolls. Very crunchy exterior with slices of prime rib inside. The dipping sauce had a great flavor but I copied not decide on the ingredients. Just know you want to ask for more. I don't get seafood at home. My wife's idea of seafood has Gortons on the label. So when I saw the seafood trio I had to get it. Really really good. Shrimp,scallop, salmon that all had great flavor and were prepared very well. My wife loves gnocchi so the short rib version was her choice. I got the leftovers the next day and they were still good. Since we were celebrating I got the celebration cheesecake. Dense but tasty. Lots of crunchy extras to dip into if you want. She got the obligatory crème brûlée. There were no leftovers for me. Dang. Monika was a dream to work with. Fun, personable, professional and just a good person to deal with. Make sure to notice her jewelry. There is a good story behind it. This experience might convince us to go to upscale restaurants more! Thanks Monika!
