Build-your-own tacos, creatively crafted margaritas and a wide range of tequila & whiskey all served in a stunning, artistically designed Day of the Dead-themed location in Strongsville. Eye catching interior, bar, and patio - all with the feel of a close-knit lively neighborhood.
Jim C. was absolutely fantastic at Barrio Downtown Cleveland! He was so friendly, kind, attentive, and made our whole experience even better. The service was excellent from start to finish — fast, welcoming, and genuinely thoughtful. You can tell he really cares about his customers. Thanks for making our night great, Jim!

Absolutely terrible experience. The customer service and overall etiquette from the staff was some of the worst I’ve ever dealt with at a restaurant. We came in to enjoy food, drinks, and watch a game, and instead felt completely unwelcome the entire time.
What really pushed it over the edge was the staff intentionally changing the TVs away from the game we were actively watching simply because we weren’t rooting for the local team/city. It came across as petty, unprofessional, and honestly childish. Instead of creating a fun sports atmosphere for paying customers, they made it feel hostile and uncomfortable.
There’s a difference between friendly hometown pride and outright disrespect toward customers. We were polite the entire time and still got treated poorly for no reason.
Food was overshadowed by the awful experience. Plenty of places know how to treat customers with basic respect — unfortunately this isn’t one of them. Won’t be back!!!!!!

Came in with high expectations. The guac and queso prices were ridiculous, and the upcharge for extras or better items was silly, so I expected it to be great, right? Well, it wasn't. We waited well over an hour for our food, My meat was lukewarm, my cheese unmelted, the chips were honestly stale and WAY too salty, and my group didn't get their pineapple salsa they ordered. If they were out, they could've told us in some way or told our Waitress. Waitress didn't even ask if we wanted drinks other than water. Speaking of water, we got one pitcher of water for a group of 7 and no refills beyond that. We sat without drinks of any kind and empty cups for a good half hour.

If you’re on the fence about Barrio — stop scrolling and go. And when you do, sit at the bar and ask for Shayla or Kim.
I’ve been to a lot of places. I’ve had a lot of bartenders. These two are a different tier. The drinks were dialed in, the pacing was perfect, and they somehow made a full bar feel like we were the only table they had. That’s not a skill you train — that’s instinct.
But here’s the thing management needs to hear: Shayla and Kim aren’t just good service. They’re the reason this place prints money. I came in once. I’m coming back because of them. I’m telling my friends because of them. That’s retention, word-of-mouth, and check average all rolled into two people. In any other industry, you’d call that a revenue driver and pay accordingly.
Barrio — if you’re reading this: give them a raise. You have two franchise players behind that bar. Don’t lose them.
10/10. Will be back. Ask for Shayla or Kim.

We decided to try this place for the first time. We came from an area with great Mexican food. We saw that you basically wrote down your order exactly how you wanted it, which we thought was cool. We asked our server questions on how to do certain things because of dietary needs. The server said to make sure we checked bowl, which we did. 4 of us dined there and all 4 of our meals came out wrong or luke warm. One order came out with pico that said NO pico, one order was luke warm, one order was a bowl and it came out as a taco. One bowl came out with rice when no rice was requested. And on top of all that the orders took FOREVER to come out. Other tables ordered after us, got their food, ate it and left before we got ours. Then when the food was “fixed” it was still wrong. We had a sporting event to go to. The manager did come over and comp the whole meal but by then we were so hungry and pissed. So when things were still wrong we left. We will never come back here and tell others to never come here.
