I’ve been going to Ambar for decades, and it was actually the very first place I had ever had Indian food before. Despite having many more places to eat Indian food at now, Ambar still holds up to the extent I can smell their curry and immediately identify it if someone else brings leftovers to work. There’s a small parking lot behind the building, but there’s plenty of places to park in the area. Just know the portions tend to skew large, so be careful with what you order!

Visited Ambar on a weekday for dinner. The place offers exclusive parking area which is very helpful. The ambience is very average but the food definitely makes up for it. The Garlic Nan is extremely soft and delicious and so was the Palak Paneer. The Malai Kofta strangely was red gravy rather than the usual white cashew gravy and was made spicy and not sweet. It was tasty but just not the typical Malai Kofta. The rice served with the dishes was surprisingly white rice with peas and just not plain white rice. However, the prices are definitely on the higher side by at least 20%.

Great place. It's in my top two Indian restaurants in Cincinnati. Classic options and great tasting. Can't go wrong.
