I'm not leaving this review lightly. I've waited several days before writing it because I value small businesses, especially in our community. We need them to succeed, and that's actually why I'm sharing this experience.
My daughter, a friend, and I stopped into Jalapenos last week, a restaurant we frequent regularly—often weekly. When we arrived, the staff was working on a large to-go order and told us they would not be serving dine-in customers at that time. We were turned away despite the restaurant being open.
What has stuck with me is that if the doors are open and customers walk in, they should either be served or clearly informed ahead of time that service is unavailable. If a large order prevents the staff from serving other customers, the restaurant should temporarily close or communicate that before people come in expecting to dine.
To be clear, the food is not the issue. We continue to return because the food is consistently good. However, customer service has been an ongoing concern. The staff often comes across as unfriendly, and this experience was disappointing enough that I felt it was important to share.
I'm offering this feedback because we enjoy the restaurant and would like to see the customer experience improve as much as the food.
