McDonald’s Review: A Drive-Thru That Stretches Your Patience 🍟😔
This McDonald’s has plenty of parking. And by plenty, I mean A LOT of parking. You could probably park a small airplane out there and still have room for a few dozen cars. Unfortunately, the parking lot might be the highlight of the experience.
Let’s start with the drive-thru. The pickup window is on the right-hand side of the vehicle, making it awkward to pay and collect your food. I’ve actually seen people drop food, drinks, cash, and credit cards while trying to navigate this setup. Apparently, you need to be Stretch from the Fantastic Four just to complete a basic McDonald’s transaction. I came for a quick meal, not an audition for a superhero movie. 😂
The food was another disappointment. The nuggets were supposed to be regular nuggets, but they had a spicy taste. The chicken sandwich was also a regular sandwich, yet it had a little kick to it. My guess is that the food may have picked up some spice from being cooked in the same oil as the spicy items. Whatever the reason, my taste buds were left asking questions nobody seemed interested in answering.
The fries weren’t fully cooked, and the Diet Coke tasted watered down. I understand that they were very busy, but being busy shouldn’t mean sending out food that isn’t properly prepared. Customers are paying for a meal, not participating in a sad little experiment to see how much disappointment can fit inside a paper bag.
The parking lot may be enormous, but getting in and out is another story. Most people seemed to need to turn left when leaving, but there’s a sign that says NO LEFT TURNS. So, naturally, drivers have to turn right and then make a quick U-turn to head in the direction they originally wanted to go. Brilliant! Why take one simple turn when you can turn it into a side quest? In my opinion, the entrance and exit layout could definitely use some rethinking.
Finally, customer service could use a little improvement. The person taking orders seemed to need some additional training in basic customer greetings and courtesy. A simple “Good morning,” “Welcome to McDonald’s,” “Thank you,” or “Have a great day” can make a difference. Nobody expects a Broadway performance at the drive-thru, but a little friendliness goes a long way. Sometimes, a simple greeting is the only thing standing between an ordinary transaction and a completely lifeless experience.
Overall: The location has plenty of parking, but unfortunately, the positives seem to stop there. The awkward drive-thru design, questionable food quality, undercooked fries, watered-down drink, inconvenient traffic flow, and lack of basic customer courtesy made this visit disappointing.
I wanted a happy meal, but instead, I left with a sad meal and a story about stretching my arm like a superhero just to get it.
McDonald’s, I believe in second chances. But next time, please give me properly cooked fries, a Diet Coke that tastes like Diet Coke, a drive-thru designed for actual human beings, and a little customer service.
Rating: 2 out of 5 stars. ⭐⭐
Because sometimes, the saddest part of a McDonald’s visit isn’t the food. It’s realizing that you were really looking forward to it.
