  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ **Holy shit. These chicken riggies.** I came to McGill’s Whiskey Tavern & Grill expecting a good meal. I did NOT expect to have a religious experience over a plate of pasta. These were hands down the **best chicken riggies I’ve ever had in my life**. The sauce was ridiculously creamy, insanely flavorful, and somehow I kept convincing myself that the next bite was going to be the one where I’d had enough. It never happened. And those hot cherry peppers?! 🔥 Absolutely PERFECT. That little kick cut through the creamy sauce and made every bite better than the last. I’m honestly a little upset that I’ve eaten chicken riggies anywhere else before this. If you’re anywhere near Utica and you’re debating what to order, stop debating. **Get the damn riggies.** You’re welcome.

  The riggies here are the absolute best in the state. Super rich and creamy and an absolutely monster portion. Wait staff is super on point and atmosphere is super chill. Go get the riggies this second.

  We stopped here for lunch on our drive west. We picked it based on Google reviews and proximity to where we were on the interstate. It’s not immediately off the interstate, but WORTH IT! It has a “locals only” vibe when you walk in, but the staff are so friendly and welcoming. They helped explain the menu and offered suggestions. My husband and I weren’t starving so we opted to share the lobster Mac & cheese that was on special for like $12. The food came quickly and WOW - EPIC portion! The bowl was huge and filled to the brim. It had a generous amount of lobster too. They also served it with a large portion of garlic bread (good thing we walked off all the carbs when we were in NYC!). We both ate and there was still another meal we ended up taking with us….I think the non-special price was around $16 and that is still super reasonable. Cannot beat a local place serving up reasonably priced comfort food - kudos to McGill’s for doing all the things right!

  You are missing out if you do not stop here. We are from Hershey Pennsylvania and stopped here while passing through. 10/10. Portion sizes will have you fed for days.
