  Island Social in Staten Island was an absolute pleasure overall. Bella the bartender was incredibly amiable and accommodating, making the entire experience feel welcoming from the moment we arrived. The burger I had was top notch, cooked perfectly and packed with flavor, and the french fries were genuinely exquisite. The patronage was equally enjoyable: amicable, generous, and full of good energy. The outside seating area is beautiful and creates a great atmosphere, though it could certainly benefit from a larger overhang or additional covering for inclement weather. My only real caveat is the ketchup situation. Respectfully, a place serving fries this good deserves Heinz ketchup. One thing worth noting is that the echo indoors can get fairly loud, likely due to the lack of tapestries, carpeting, curtains, or other sound softening décor. Still, the lively environment and excellent service more than make up for it.

  This place is great! Food, atmosphere, drinks all on point! But honestly, find out whenever Ashley works there because she is the absolute best and I try to go there every time SHE is working to know I'll have THE best service. Ashley goes above and beyond! Mariah, Bella and Toniann are dolls to!

  I thought the bartender Bella did a great job she was very attentive and helpful. The buffalo chicken wrap is sick I didn’t expect good food here but it was awesome. Definitely recommend

  Haven’t visited the island in a while. First time back in years and stumbled into Island Social. Service, atmosphere and drinks were on point. But what sold me was the bartender. Bella is that inviting, fun and social bartender you get in the city without the $30 drink prices.

  The bartender Bella is extremely unprofessional and is not a good bartender. She took a long time to give me my first drink. I’m waiting and she’s on her phone and eating food. Then took even longer to get my second drink. As I’m waiting to order my second drink she’s sitting down with her friends having a drink and outside the bar taking pictures with customers. So I had to go up to her and ask for another drink. So I did not tip and wrote on the receipt that she took too long to give me both drinks. I am a bartender myself and am always scanning for new customers and if anyone needs another drink and she simply was not doing that at all. As a bartender that is the bare minimum. She decided to direct message me on instagram and say not to come back and that the whole bar is laughing at me. Then blocks me so I can’t reply. That embarrassing that she would do that. It’s not my fault that she’s a bad bartender. Yet she’s mad because I’m not going to tip for terrible service. Edit: it’s interesting how you take no real accountability for the actions of your worker. Trying to say it’s about “both sides”. Her taking it upon herself to find my personal instagram and send me a rude message is very weird and is her taking it to the next level. I didn’t care to leave a review for the slow service until she took it to the next level. Maybe let her know Google reviews are a thing and to not send rude messages to customers if you don’t want people to let others know this is the type of people working at this bar. I already told the manager or whoever reached out to me on instagram who asked me to take down the review that I decided to write the review because she reached out on my instagram with a rude message, he also took no accountability for the workers actions. Is anyone holding her accountable? This is not a “personal problem”. It’s your bartender causing problems. I think it’s safe to say she feels comfortable behaving the way she does because she’s not being held accountable. If your business suffers because of my review, the only person to blame is the bartender and how she behaved that night. As your worker she is a reflection of your business. Me being a bartender is irrelevant. If I got no tip and some feedback written on a check that I didn’t like, I’d take it on the chin.
