The atmosphere was nice however I found the room to be a little stuffy and uncomfortably warm. As an Italian male, I found their Braciole was a huge disappointment. After waiting an exceptionally long time for our food, my Braciole was tuff to cut using a steak knife. Braciole should fork tender. The sauce was good but did not make up for the dish as a whole. My wife and sister in law had the fettuccine with chicken and both wished they ordered something else as the noodles were soggy. While the portions are huge it doesn't make a difference if the food doesn't meet expectations. Our server was pleasant and attentive so I don't fault her for the excessive wait time for the food. As far as my overall impression, unfortunately I won't be back anytime soon.

I’ve been a patron of canals for many many years and I’m a big fan of this restaurant. My family is large and on the weekend of September 13 my family and I decided to do a dual birthday celebration.(My brother and I are twin) There were 12 in our party. We arrive timely for our reservation and we’re seated promptly. I shook hands with the owner as I always do when I come in as did my brother he always greets us warmly . we ordered a round of drinks and some appetizers. The individual who was assigned to our section was very young and I think she lacked the service experience to handle a party of our size in a more timely manner in terms of how long it took For us to receive our drinks and our food , and she actually forgot a drink of one person in our party and we had to remind her of it. I understand being young and maybe her first time job and we did not let that small minor inconvenience put a damper on our evening the biggest disappointment was the food when it finally received two individuals in our parties ordered steaks they were both extremely tough and extremely dry. My guess is they were over refrigerated prior to searing
This was a surprise to us as the food is always top shelf. The pasta portions were much smaller than what we had been used to in the past nevertheless, we powered through and had an enjoyable evening, despite the missteps on the service and the food on this evening, I will more than likely be returning again sometime in the future.

I must say, food was amazing. However, waiting an hour to get said food for a party of two people, was unacceptable. We arrived at 7ish on a Saturday without a reservation and were told we'd have to wait 10 mins to be seated. Given the time and day, not a problem. After being seated, our orders were taken at around 7:20. We enjoyed our bread and drinks....for an hour. We decided that was enough and left cash on the table to cover the drinks and headed towards the door. We informed the maitre'd we were leaving and she asked if we would allow her to figure out the issue. She assured us our food was ready and we decided to stay. It was almost 8:30 and we were hungry at that point. When we returned to our table, our dishes had arrived. I had order one meatball and one sausage with my meal, to find two meatballs instead. We were fist told the delay was due to a large order going in right before ours, later to be changed to a fire in the kitchen causing the delay. We paid full price for everything we had ordered, not even the drinks were comped, nor were we offered dessert on the house. Terrible way to treat customers. NEVER. AGAIN.

Tried chicken parm takeout.
Not bad at all but I had high expectations for their reputation & the price. It was a bit chewy & slightly salty. Again, definitely not a bad meal but not what I was after. Service was okay.

We have been fortunate to have Julianna as our server the last few times and she is consistently kind, friendly and competent. I had my go to meal, the lasagna, and the recipe seems to have changed... very cheesey but typically a huge portion and I brought the leftovers home
Weve been going to Canalis for decades. Prices are higher but so is everything these days
