Absolutely terrible customer service. The staff was rude, unfriendly, and made me feel completely unwelcome. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a Subway. No customer should be treated this way. I won’t be coming back, and I definitely can’t recommend this location to anyone. If you expect friendly service and respect, you may want to go somewhere else. I hope management addresses this because it’s unacceptable.

I am writing this to provide feedback on my recent experience at this Subway and the whole corporation in general. I want to start by saying the staff members were friendly and professional; my issue is strictly with the current state of the Subway brand and corporate-level decisions. Rochester is the city of subs, therefore I am used to the high standard set by local staples like Wegmans and DiBella’s. Unfortunately, Subway’s current product is subpar and no longer competitive: - Shrinkflation & Value: I ordered a 6" and it felt significantly smaller and lighter than competitors' subs at a similar price point. Filling was acceptable but the bread itself was basically akin to a hotdog bun, chewy and spongey, which got soggy quickly by the dressing. - Quality of Ingredients: Compared to the fresh, hearth-baked rolls and premium toppings found at other local delis, Subway’s ingredients feel processed and tiered toward cost-cutting rather than flavor. The so-called "grilled chicken" was basically just canned chicken with seasoning. I could not taste the "grilled" part one bit. Where did the flavor and texture go? - The Digital Tipping Prompt: Perhaps the most frustrating part of the visit was the card reader's demand for a tip (defaulting to 20%) on a counter-service transaction. While I value the workers, it feels predatory for corporate to use high-pressure digital prompts to supplement wages instead of providing value that warrants a tip. I was planning on giving a 10% but I accidentally "fast-tapped" a 20% tip I didn't intend to give, and while I don't blame the staff for the software, it left a very bitter taste in my mouth. Subway used to be tasty and premium, but now the subs are below average and the checkout process feels like a "guilt-trip". I would rather spend my money at a local deli where the quality matches the price. I hope corporate reconsider its current direction regarding ingredient quality and aggressive tipping architecture. Until then, go to Wegmans or DiBella's. You get a way better sub for a much better value of your hard-earned money.

I usually order from the subway all the time, but this time I had a horrible experience with one of the employees they named Meg. I didn’t online order and I added extra protein. I saw her do it, and she argued with me that she already added extra when I literally stood there and watched her do it instead of fixing the problem. She argue back with me, which I don’t think it’s right I will never be ordering from this place ever again.
