There are not enough good words to describe how amazing this place is!! I had my birthday party on their back patio and they were so accommodating, we had endless phenomenal pizza, wine, peronis, & sodas. Max was such a great server, he told us where all the ingredients were locally sourced from, he constantly was making sure we had what we needed, and was so kind! This family run business is such a gem and deserves allll the success. 10/10 recommend for any and all occasions!

Honestly I'm not sure where to begin praising this place.
It's a genuine, family-owned spot. The owners are New York residents who source their ingredients and beer for the most part in the New York area, and they seem to take great care of their staff. The quasi-open kitchen offers a view into the immaculate kitchen, and it's a delight to watch your pizza cook in the oven and come out bubbling and crackling before it hits your table. You can also very easily find yourself talking to the owners and realize how passionate they are about this shop.
It really is the kind of family spot people miss in the city, especially as slop like Wonder and private equity encroach into the New York City dining scene. If you care about local, family owned restaurants with faces, go here. Get a Pizza Box martini, a pie, and support our local businesses.
Also, Melanie (one of the owners), grows the cucumbers for the pickles herself!

Phenomenal pizza and a true New York pizza experience! The pizza was absolutely delicious; exactly what you want from a great NY-style spot.
What makes this restaurant even more impressive is its commitment to being a no-waste establishment. When it’s gone, it’s gone. It’s refreshing to see a restaurant combine exceptional food with such a thoughtful approach to sustainability.
On top of that, the husband-and-wife owners are super friendly and responsive, which makes the whole experience even better.
Great pizza, great concept, and an all-around fantastic experience. Definitely worth a visit!
As a native New Yorker, I take my pizza very seriously and The Pizza Box is no joke. I had their honey pepperoni, elote, and al pastor - all very unique and delicious (though I feel like the corn pizza could've had a few more pieces of corn heh). You're not just coming here for the pizza though - you're coming here bec you want the cozy vibes... like you're in a cabin upstate sitting near the fireplace (there is a TV that projects a fireplace)😌. Michael is great, very friend and kind (and funny).
I could not recommend this place enough. Go try their pizza and SUPPORT YOUR LPS (local pizza shop duh)!!

If I could give The Pizza Box NY 10 stars, I absolutely would.
From the moment we walked in, everything about this place was exceptional. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and full of personality, but what truly makes it special is Melanie, the owner. She is one of the kindest, most genuine restaurant owners I’ve ever met. She spent time walking around checking on guests, having real conversations with everyone, and making people feel like family. It’s the perfect example of why local, family-owned businesses deserve our support.
Now, the food… wow.
The Margherita pizza is honestly one of the best I’ve had anywhere in New York City. I’ve been searching for a Margherita pizza like this for a long time, and I finally found it. The crust was perfectly light and airy, the sauce was fresh and flavorful, and the mozzarella and basil came together perfectly. I’ll absolutely be coming back just for that pizza.
We also tried the gluten-free pizza, and it was outstanding. What impressed me even more was how seriously they take gluten-free preparation. Melanie explained how important it is to them that everything is prepared safely and correctly for guests with dietary restrictions. That level of care and attention is something you don’t find everywhere, and it makes a huge difference for people who rely on gluten-free options.
The gluten-free chocolate chip cookie was another surprise. It was absolutely delicious and one of the best gluten-free desserts I’ve had.
And if you’re visiting during the summer, do yourself a favor and order the red wine slushie. It was incredible and the perfect way to cool off on a hot New York day.
Every part of our experience exceeded expectations. Incredible food, genuinely caring people, a fun atmosphere, and service that makes you want to come back again and again.
I honestly wish I lived closer because I’d probably eat here every week. Even though I don’t, I’ll definitely be making the trip back and ordering from them whenever I can.
Whether you’re a lifelong New Yorker or visiting the city for the first time, put The Pizza Box NY on your list. You won’t regret it.
