  The food was great!! I think I was hoping for a little more special food, but it was all still great. I think the fact that it’s so hard to get a reservation is a bit of a turnoff, also not having matchbooks. It’s just for the price and exclusivity I thought there would be more. That being said the fluffy margarita was spectacular, the mashed potatoes were a bit too buttery, the corned croissant was a little flat, the banana dessert was great. The Waldorf salad was also incredible and I’m glad I tried it!

  Without a doubt, this was the most overhyped and disappointing restaurant I've been to in 2026. It started the moment we walked in the door. We had a 4:15pm reservation, and the maître d' fought us on whether we could even have the table because he said it was made under somebody else's name, and since they weren't there, we weren't going to be allowed to sit. Ridiculous. It was 4:15pm in the afternoon, and we had the reservation right there on our phone. After arguing with him, we finally sat down at the table we'd reserved in the first place, but it left an extremely sour taste in our mouths. All of this would have been forgiven if the food was actually good. It wasn't. It was Instagram slop served in a place decorated like the AmEx Centerion Lounge. We started with two dirty martinis, which may have been the best part of the meal. Then the potato croquettes, which were fine, nothing special, and the pastrami hamachi, which was a total mismatch of flavors. Why would we want hamachi that tastes like pastrami? It was very salty and lukewarm. The lobster shrimp pasta was our other favorite dish of the night. The bone-in wagyu meat was good but overwhelmed by the pepper crust, but nothing better than you'd get at a steakhouse with actual good service. The Waldorf salad was a mismatch of flavors - sweet, tart, and fatty. I wouldn't recommend it. All in all, it's just not worth the money or dealing with how rude the maître d' is to eat food this mediocre. If you want a steakhouse with actually good food and a good vibe, go to 4 Charles, go to La Tête d'Or, go to The Grill. This is really not it.

  Lovely bespoke and warm service from Don and Jermaine from the second we walked in. Our server / bartender, Sean, was a joy to have helping guide us through the menu options, tell us the history of the location, and overall just additive to our entire experience. The food was absolutely terrific, one of the best meals I’ve had in the city. We ordered the croquettes, the blow fish special, Waldorf salad, and the Delmonico steak with creamed spinach and the corn pot pie as sides. I cannot find a single thing to complain about. Our cocktails were also fantastic, my girlfriend loved her smoked dirty martini, and I started with the mezcal infante. I then tried the fluffy margarita and it was so good my gf ordered it for her second round. Then Sean made a mezcal last word cocktail that was delicious. Truly excited to come back here.

  Had an excellent experience at 86. Sharif took great care of us — warm, attentive service and really made the experience. The steak was top notch, and the potato croquettes were excellent. Everything was brilliant from start to finish. Great to see the owners going around and checking in with every table too — a really nice personal touch. Highly recommend.

  Really cool dark speak easy vibe. It’s expensive but you’re paying for a premium experience. Had the filet mignon which was really good! Would recommend and go back again. Suggest getting a reservation.
