if you’re looking for an upscale, modern mexican spot in midtown west / hell’s kitchen, talavera on 10th ave is an absolute must-visit 🌮🍹 the space is stunning, blending a gorgeous dining room with a great bar and outdoor seating, giving it the perfect elevated-yet-comfortable vibe ✨🏢
the food here is incredibly fresh and seafood-forward, putting a contemporary spin on traditional coastal mexican flavors 🐟🌊 you have to start with the guacamole and the pork belly chicharron—they are both pure perfection 🥑🔥 for entrees, the sizzling fajitas, ribeye tacos, and the adobo-marinated branzino are next-level delicious and perfect for sharing 🍽️👑
the cocktails completely steal the show, especially their house margaritas and mezcalitas which pair flawlessly with the food 🍸🍊 whether you’re stopping by for an epic happy hour, dinner before a show, or a relaxed weekend brunch, the service is top-tier and welcoming 🙌💛 definitely add this gem to your midtown lineup 🚀🇲🇽

Our first time there and definitely will not be our last. The food was outstanding, from appetizers to entrees to dessert. The margaritas were equally delicious. The service team was great, personable, never rushing but always anticipated our needs be it that extra drink, water coffee or needing the check to make a show. Outstanding
I was in New York for vacations and I visited Talavera. I was really impressed! Every plate was delicious, and cocktails were awesome! Very nice vibe and fast service! One of the best in town!

I had an extremely frustrating and unacceptable experience at this restaurant. I sat at the bar expecting quicker service, but it turned into a complete mess. I ordered a tea and avocado toast. The waiter listed multiple tea options, I chose green, and 10 minutes later he came back to say they didn’t have it. I switched to mint.
Another 10 minutes passed before the tea finally arrived—still no food. I asked another employee to check on my order. She returned saying there was a “kitchen issue” and even asked if I had ordered my food to go, which I had not. This only showed how disorganized things were.
After waiting 30 minutes total, the server/bartender came back and asked, “Remind me what your order was again?” That was the final straw. I told him to cancel it. There was no apology, no accountability—just a cold “Are you going to pay for the tea?”
The service was chaotic, inattentive, and completely unprofessional. Orders were forgotten, communication was nonexistent, and basic courtesy was lacking. This was a waste of time and a very poor experience overall. I will definitely not be returning.

As the owner of a travel company, I regularly visit restaurants to experience the food and recommend the very best to my clients. This is truly one of my favorite places. From the food and ambiance to the exceptional service, everything is outstanding. It’s easily one of the best restaurants in our neighborhood.
What makes it even more special is the concept two cuisines in one place, offering both Greek and Mexican options, which is unique and exciting. The team is incredibly welcoming and professional. The General Manager, Stathis Konstantoudakis, is fantastic he leads his team with warmth and care. He personally came to our table to share updates about new menu options, which shows great attention to guests. They are always very accommodating, especially when we come with our baby, which we truly appreciate.
Borce is wonderful very knowledgeable, attentive, and welcoming. The food is consistently delicious, and the frozen margaritas come in a variety of flavors each one is excellent.
My personal favorite is the non alcoholic spicy margarita.
We always feel at home here, and that’s what keeps us coming back.
Thank you, Stathis, for maintaining such a great atmosphere and an exceptional team. I highly recommend this restaurant to all of my clients.
Warm regards,
