The staff were extremely hospitable and welcoming from the moment I walked in. Carlton was an absolute pleasure—super attentive, helpful, and made sure I had a great experience even though I was only ordering takeout.
Now to the FOOD!!! I ordered the Take Care Burger, cooked medium, added bacon, and omitted the jalapeño relish. Let me just say… 100000/10!!! Easily one of the best quality burgers I’ve ever had. It was cooked to absolute perfection—juicy, flavorful, and you simply can’t go wrong with the quality of a Pat LaFrieda patty.
The shoestring fries, unfortunately, were not for me at all. They were definitely the one miss of the meal and I probably wouldn’t order them again. That being said, the burger was SO GOOD it completely made up for the fries and honestly, that’s what I came for anyway 😂.
Between the hospitality, Carlton’s great service, and that AMAZING burger, I will DEFINITELY be back ASAP. Take Care just gained a new regular! 🔥🍔
If you don’t want personal service, attention to detail, perfectly solicitous wait staff, excellent management and yummy food, then please don’t go to Take Care restaurant at the Shelburne Sonesta. I stayed at the hotel with my husband for three days while having surgery at NYU. They remembered that every time we came back. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner at different points - and they fed my husband while I was in hospital. The food is so good! I love the fish and chips; thick, juicy perfectly fried pieces of cod. My mouth is watering as I write this. My husband and visiting nephew had the steak frites. Delicious, juicy, perfectly cooked, and my nephew ate his fries and my husband’s fries and wanted more. I quote: these are the best fries I’ve ever had! We would have ordered more for him but he had to leave. The breakfast is simple, beautiful and a perfect way to begin your day. My husband had the omelette and I had the eggs - sounds silly to write it that way but the menu titles are simple and the meal is simply flavorful, fresh and satisfying. Our water glasses were never empty (I drank a LOT of water), my husband’s drink was no sooner finished, than he had another at table - not by verbal request, but by look, gesture and nod. Many restaurants we’ve been to have lost, forgotten or never had that language of the table and visual communication with their diners and with which I was brought up and taught. The wait staff is LOVELY. Very formal manners and service even though the restaurant itself is quite casual (thank heaven - I was not looking my best after surgery and barely brushed my hair). They most specifically did not notice (of course they did) and treated us no differently. That’s incorrect, they treated us even better. One special note: the day of my procedure we got to there and I had 17 minutes before my clear liquids cutoff time. Tiffany, who is a manager, not wait staff, seated us and immediately brought me the chamomile tea I requested. Not her job, she did it - for me - anyway. Thank you, Tiffany for my “last meal” within the deadline. Special shoutouts to Tiffany, Peter and Oscar. Peter and Oscar are wait staff and they were so wonderful. These people are KIND, professional, knowledgeable about the menu, and they ask EVERY time you are seated if you have any food allergies. What else can I say? If you don’t enjoy fresh, tasty, savory, simply wonderful food and some of the best staff I’ve experienced in a v-e-r-y long time, don’t go to Take Care. They are a precious secret - although they shouldn’t be. Go there!

Had a great experience at Take Care! We got a few apps to start, and I ordered the chicken sandwich, which was delicious. Everything came out great, but what really stood out was the service. Jake was an awesome waiter—super friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal.
Definitely ask for Jake if you’re there!
And a special shoutout to the cookie skillet — seriously, don’t leave without getting one!
I had an exceptional dining experience! What truly stood out was the outstanding level of customer service from the moment I arrived.
I observed the manager, Tiffany Kennedy, personally assisting guests with genuine care and professionalism. She was attentive, approachable, and clearly dedicated to making sure everyone had a great experience. It's refreshing to see a manager so actively engaged with customers and leading by example.
Our server, Lixandra Araujo, was equally impressive. She was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect throughout our meal. Her positive attitude and outstanding customer service made the experience even more enjoyable.
It's clear that this restaurant takes pride in providing excellent hospitality. The combination of Tiffany's leadership and Michelle's exceptional service made this a five-star experience. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning!

Spouse found it online. Made a reservation. We ventured in, were seated. Peter was our waiter - very attentive, did not hover. Got the crispy sprouts to start - yum! Very tasty. Nice and crispy. I got fish and chips - perfect amount, tasty, cooked properly and piping hot. Fries were good and the mushy peas were also good. Spouse got the brick chicken - also quite good. Spouse asked for rice - called an audible as it's not on the menu with that dish. Peter took care of it. Son wanted the chicken caesar but prepared as a wrap (also not on the menu) and Peter was able to persuade the kitchen to do it - also yummy, so a win. On the spendy side but getting a good dinner on a friday in Manhattan was a win.
