Went with a sushi combo that included several rolls and a few nigiri pieces. The spicy tuna was my favorite, while the shrimp roll had a lighter flavor. I liked being able to sample different combinations in one meal. Everything was filling and nicely portioned

Went with the sushi for a weekend dinner and ordered the chef's special roll. The combination of ingredients was creative without being overwhelming, and the flavors worked surprisingly well together. I also liked the plating—it looked colorful and thoughtfully arranged. A fun meal to try something outside the usual order

Not worth it. They do have good quality ingredients, but as an Omakase experience, it’s basically nonexistent. When you go to an Omakase, you’re paying for the chef’s experience, reputation, and technique. Here, it was basically just an employee who had been making sushi for two years.
The experience felt more like a tourist trap. I know it doesn’t compare to an Omakase in other places where it can cost up to $400, but I would have rather paid that for a skilled sushi chef with experience and a reputation, because that’s essentially what you’re paying for.
Here, you’re basically paying $10 to $15 for a piece of nigiri that anyone could make. It didn’t even seem like the chef chose what he was going to serve. A lot of the fish was already pre sliced, which I also didn’t like because it clearly affects the quality of the product.
The whole experience lasts less than 40 minutes at most. You basically eat one piece of nigiri, and they immediately start preparing the next one. They only tell you the name of the fish when they serve it. There’s no real Omakase experience when everything is already prepared and pre portioned and made by someone without much experience.
I would have rather gone to TAO and paid $25 for a 12 piece roll. It would have felt about the same. Even though the staff was always very friendly, they were chatting with each other from one side of the counter to the other.
My point is that I did have a bad experience. There’s really no experience to it. You just sit there while they make your nigiri one by one, and that’s it. I could have gone to any good sushi restaurant in New York, ordered individual pieces of nigiri, and paid less.
It doesn’t deliver the Omakase experience because there isn’t even a chef there who can truly provide one.

I have been to multiple Sushi by boa locations over the last couple of years. I have always had a top notch experience but tonight was the best experience. Mike A at Chelsea location took it to another level! He truly made our experience unforgettable! Thank you Mike!

Cheers to the very best sushi omakase experience in NYC!
Thank you Omri for the most delicious and wonderful evening. The freshness of each bite of fish, the unique flavors, and the precision with which each piece was crafted made for a truly edible masterpiece. Our 12 course omakase was truly special - each piece and each bite was better than the one before it. What a truly magical and one of a kind experience.
You also took such great care of us and the guests around us. You didn't just feed us amazing sushi, you made it a great experience by laughing with us, sharing stories, and keeping us company. We truly enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you for the wonderful service and the very best sushi omakase we have experienced.
5 stars all the way!
