Maya was an excellent omakase chef who guided us through a really delightful and amazing course that made me both full and intrigued by what could be done with vegan ingredients. I found myself really enjoying the watermelon sushi, along with the tempura oyster mushroom dish. Please definitely try the extra dessert and the additional “fifth element” extra course that is sure to wow both your eyes and taste buds.

My wife and I had an incredible experience at Omakaseed Vegan! The setting was intimate, with just 12 guests total, made up of different couples all sharing a beautifully curated 15-course tasting menu. It created such a unique and enjoyable dining atmosphere.
Every course was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The flavors were incredibly well balanced, and each dish brought something new to the table. The variety of textures throughout the meal was especially impressive and made every bite exciting.
Our chef did a wonderful job explaining each course, sharing the inspiration and ingredients behind every dish, which made the experience even more special. You could really feel the passion and attention to detail that went into every plate.
Whether you’re vegan or simply love great food, Omakaseed Vegan is an experience worth having. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire evening, and we can’t wait to come back!

We first went two years ago and were blown away by the taste, creativity, and attention to detail. However, our most recent trip, in Aug 2026, was a dud.
Our chef was in a hurry, and seemed exhausted and flustered. About a third of the dishes were bland, almost like eating plain sticky rice -- did she forget a garnish here and an ingredient there amid all the rush? We were in and out in under an hour, after starting 15 minutes late.
Is this place trying to pack too many back to back "flourishes" and ruining the experiences for everyone, including the chefs, in the process? Very likely.
Sad to say, but not sure we will be going back here.

We loved the food and ambiance. It’s creative, elevated, and beautifully presented. A few odd things that are good to know and may sway you one way or another. First, it feels a bit theatrical and rushed— similar to a cruise ship dining experience. You have a set time to go in and have a seat, which is to be expected but unfortunately the script is very rigid. You must stay on the schedule, rather than the diners eating and enjoying each course and the chef adjusting to the pace (even subtly) so as to not rush anyone, and honor the founding chefs vision and artistry. We eat a bit slower than some because we love food and want to enjoy it. The pacing ended up feeling rushed and left us scrambling to eat quickly to finish each course. It caused us to not focus on the meal, so much as eating to keep up with everyone. This is not pleasurable. The 11 course meal took us roughly 45 minutes. This backs up what I was feeling… rushed.
Second, after the appetizer courses, the chef takes away all plates and leaves you with a tiny wet napkin to wipe your hands. That’s great but some of the food falls while eating, especially if you cannot fit the food in your mouth in one bite. Some of the courses are two bites. We ended up with food dribbling down on our napkins. It felt less special. We should have requested plates and in hindsight wish we had. They should not assume everyone will love every bite either and give them the opportunity to leave food on a plate if it doesn’t agree with them. Aesthetics play a major part in this kind of dining and this felt like a detail that was overlooked and felt sloppy. As did the tip jar positioned right in front of our view.
While I loved the food (truly loved it!!), the cruise ship/Disney vibe did not feel so special, as it did gimmicky. I am glad we got to experience the delicious vegan food, but probably wouldn’t return because of the rushed, impersonal and somewhat messy experience. A few improvements could turn this in to a higher end culinary destination. Once again though, if you can look past some service points and request a plate, and eat quickly you will get to enjoy brilliantly creative cuisine!

Wasn’t exactly what I thought I was signing up for. For a course that’s over $110 per person I expected more of a high dining experience. The biggest qualm I had about it was that the entire experience felt extremely rushed. We had 15 courses and the restaurant has a strict in and out in 1 hour policy. We arrived on time and used the restroom at the beginning, which meant 50 minutes total (aka ~3 minutes per course). As soon as we finished one course they collected our plates and placed the next one down. The chef was great and I felt bad because they felt bad that we had no time to talk amongst ourselves. They tried to explain the courses quickly within ~30 seconds, leaving us 2.5 minutes to eat it. We ordered a drink but when we got it we were already on course 10. And the check was handed to us immediately after we finished and they told us they had to prepare for the next party. We booked this for a birthday and we basically didn’t have time to even chat with each other which kind of ruined the whole point of having a get together in the first place.
The food was decent but nothing extraordinary. Off the top of my head the Ika and melon dishes need a lot of work. The ika was just konjac and the melon one was way too sweet. For New York I think you can probably find a much better alternative if looking for veg. But to be honest I’d be fine with it even if the food was ok, our party was mostly just put off by the rush.
Anyways I usually don’t write reviews, but wanted to put this here because I wish I knew what I was signing up for when paying for a $110 meal. This is the same price as dirt candy, which is imo a muchhh better experience.
