I been coming to mastros for years and I haven’t been here in like a year and change and on my return the food was real bland with no flavor like before!!! I use to get the rack of lamb when it was 55 dollars and it use to be seasoned but they went up and it’s terrible!! I’m not a fan of the new chef they have but service was good.

I want to start off by saying our waitress, Danielle, was amazing! She was attentive, friendly, and provided excellent service throughout our meal. This would have been a five-star review if it wasn’t for our experience walking into the restaurant.
I’ve always enjoyed the food here, and the service has generally been great. However, I was really disappointed by the inconsistency of the dress code.
We came to celebrate our 1st year anniversary. My boyfriend arrived wearing a new sweater vest, dress pants, and loafers. His outfit was well put together, professional, and exactly what most people would consider business casual. He was told he couldn’t come in because his sweater vest was considered a sleeveless top. He had to walk 10 minutes back to the car in the pouring rain to change.
While I waited, I watched several young men come in wearing skinny jeans, regular T-shirts, sneakers, and baseball caps. They were told to take off the baseball caps, which were put right back on once they were seated. I’m honestly not sure what the restaurant considers business casual, because what I saw being allowed didn’t seem to match the standard that was applied to my boyfriend.
We tried not to let it ruin our evening, but it was frustrating. He ended up coming back wearing a graphic T-shirt that didn’t match the rest of his outfit at all, which was disappointing since we had planned to take nice photos together.
I understand the restaurant may have a no-sleeveless policy, and I respect that. However, it was confusing to see other guests admitted wearing T-shirts, jeans, sneakers, and baseball caps. They were only asked to remove their hats before being seated, and once seated, they put them right back on. That made the dress code feel inconsistently enforced. I just hope the dress code can be enforced more consistently so future guests have a clearer understanding of what is and isn’t acceptable.

some friends and i came here for a birthday party and we had reservations. we came and even though there was many tables available upstairs, it still took about 30 minutes to be seated. we then got seated, but instead of upstairs, they brought all of us down stairs in a small little room in the corner. The first thing that i realized was that most of the black people in the restaurant were seated downstairs and also in the little room downstairs. 🤨 the service was also really bad. the server took so long to bring our menu, and to take our orders. overall, very bad experience. i do not recommend coming here.

My family celebrated my son’s 15th birthday yesterday at Mastro Steakhouse. Our waiter name is Bryce and so is my son name. There was an instant connection with Bryce the waiter. He was cool and knew about the menu and was able to provide us with recommendations. (We were cousin) 😩 Anyhow the service was amazing and the food was tasty. We had a ball. As Bryce the waiter was very child friendly while my 6 year old Bruno asked so many questions and wanted to connect with Bryce. We had visited this restaurant many times nothing like the experience with Bryce.
I’m a NYC Officiant and I would like to be a preferred officiant for elopement ceremonies or elopement dinners.

Mastro’s Steakhouse in NYC is truly one of my favorite places to go. The food is always incredible, the drinks are amazing, and the atmosphere feels great every time. Everything from the appetizers to the steak to the sides is consistently delicious and well-prepared.
The staff is also a huge part of why I love coming here. They are always welcoming, professional, attentive, and make the experience feel elevated from the moment you walk in. I really appreciate how they take care of guests and create such a great dining experience.
I go here all the time, and it never disappoints. Whether it’s for a celebration, dinner with family, drinks, or just a great night out in the city, Mastro’s always delivers. The food, service, drinks, and overall vibe make it one of the best steakhouses in NYC.
