This is the second restaurant I have been to after living in this part of Manhattan for the last two years (almost to the day), and this was the third time I ordered from this restaurant, where I actually prefer the food a lot more; however, up until today, I valued the quality of the staff. I had originally placed my order online, and was expecting that it would be ready to pick up within 15 minutes (as noted). When I arrived at the restaurant, it was busy—most likely due to an event or events in the immediate vicinity. So, I tried to give the restaurant some grace, but based on the initial lack of attention I received, I felt like I had moved to the front cashier hoping to have a better chance of getting my order. When I could not accomplish that simple task, I had called the restaurant while I was in the restaurant and was greeted but I was immediately put on hold afterward. I ended up having a whole conversation with someone who had also ordered initially, but may have been there a little less time than me. It took me 40 minutes to get my order. I had ordered shrimp in garlic sauce with a side of white rice and green peas and an order of steamed vegetables. I’m guessing people don’t eat vegetables like that because it’s like they had made it to order, which was fine, but then you’d have to manage my expectations better and tell me how long I’d actually have to wait before my order would be ready. After the man helping me finally acknowledged me and became aware that I was there, he was consistent in helping me. However, even that was difficult. I had always received better service in every restaurant I’ve been in, albeit they had different styles. It almost looked like they were possibly short. I had seen this restaurant in other parts of the city and maybe in another borough—definitely in Yonkers. The food was very good, but I’d just remind anyone thinking of going here to be mindful of the potential for very long wait times and to call ahead if you can. Also, it seemed like the staff did not understand how to manage a very busy crowd, and I feel like that does a disservice to your paying customers. It looked like people will wait to be seated but there was no one that I saw, at least from the front entrance, that was greeting people on entry, and they was a little out of place. I’d recommend but they need to be a little more organized when in a fast paced environment.
