The food was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere is great. I’ve been to both locations, and they did not disappoint. The complimentary pitas are always served warm and fresh, which I love! The kafta with hummus and pita is now my go to meal!!! Love, love, love!

Jack’s Wife Freda on Lafayette is a wonderfully charming downtown restaurant with a warm, lively atmosphere, distinctive styling, and a vibe that somehow reminds me of one of my grandmothers. The Salmon à la Plancha is especially delicious and remains a favorite. I’ve only been to the original small Lafayette Street location, but I’m glad to see the restaurant thriving, expanding just down the block.

An absolute go-to when in the area. Recommend sitting outside, reminds me of Parisian restaurants. Anything and everything on the menu is going to be excellent-whether it's the roasted garlic app, the mussels (I don't typically like them, but this dish was SO good), but the Branzino with couscous & a diced cucumber and tomato salad was the best dish I had during my 1 week stay and is now a must when I visit. We visited Sunday 8.2.26, sat outside to the left of the front door and our female server (I forget her name now) was truly excellent and so on top of everything, she had things provided to us before we even had to ask. I can't wait to go back.

    ### Jack's Wife Freda This charming Lafayette Street staple epitomizes the quintessential SoHo neighborhood bistro, boasting a vibrant, airy atmosphere that instantly makes you feel welcome. The restaurant consistently buzzes with a lively energy, making it a fantastic spot for a relaxed daytime meal or a casual evening bite. The front-of-house team handles the bustling dining room with immense grace, providing attentive, warm, and highly efficient service that keeps the entire experience smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. The kitchen delivers exceptionally well across their all-day menu offerings. The poached eggs were prepared to absolute perfection with warm, runny yolks, while the salmon burger was standout—moist, beautifully seasoned, and cooked just right. Complementing the food, the beverage program showed off impressive versatility. The Hugo Spritz offered a light, crisp, and refreshing floral note, the classic Pimm's Cup was bright and balanced, and the Manhattan was stirred with precision, providing a rich, smooth finish. While the drink menu naturally leans into lively, accessible café favorites, introducing a small, curated selection of craft sakes could add an unexpected, sophisticated twist to their dynamic bar program. Overall, it remains a thoroughly reliable, high-quality SoHo staple that I would gladly return to anytime.
