  Came here with my mother who was visiting me from out of state. Before we got our food, a family that was finished with theirs turned to both of us and said the food here is phenomenal , enjoy!! We saw that as a good sign and it was confirmed after we had finished eating…. The food was spectacular. We ordered an extra plate because it was that delicious. This is a great restaurant, I can’t wait to come back!!

  Food is really good and abundant. Service was slow but it looked like they were short on staff that day, just one server for the whole restaurant! What I didn’t find nice is that they went over the bill with us on their machine to make sure all items were correct but magically forgot to mention that they already included tip so we tipped again when prompted in the machine…

  I had really been looking forward to dining here because I had heard great things, and while the food itself was genuinely good, the overall experience was overshadowed by the service. My boyfriend ordered a fish dish that was supposed to come with a coconut curry sauce, but it arrived without the sauce entirely. He had to ask for it after the food was already served, which should have been caught before it ever left the kitchen. The service continued to decline throughout the meal. After my appetizer, our waiter cleared my plate and accidentally took my fork with it. We then waited nearly ten minutes before anyone returned with new silverware, leaving me unable to eat the rest of my meal while my food sat in front of me. Our water glasses were never refilled, despite multiple opportunities for staff to notice. When we asked for an additional sauce, it felt as though the request was treated as an inconvenience. We were initially expected to share one sauce, and when I asked for another, the response made it seem like I was asking for something unreasonable. To end the evening, it took an unusually long time to receive the check. We waited so long that we eventually stood up, and only then did someone come over to process our payment. Unfortunately, the outdoor seating also came with a significant mosquito problem, and I left with multiple mosquito bites, which made the experience even less enjoyable. The food has real potential, and that's what makes this experience so disappointing. Great food can bring people through the door, but attentive, thoughtful service is what makes people want to return. I hope the restaurant takes these issues seriously because the quality of the cuisine deserves service that reflects it.

  Mid, mid, mid- I don’t understand where the high ratings are coming from. Service was mid, the guy was nice but getting the food out was so slow. There much be only 1 person in the kitchen making everyone’s food because wow it took 20 minutes for the entree to come out. Had the ceviche- 6.5/10, can taste for sure the lime and salted well but only three shrimp in the special which is a $4 up charge from the regular ceviche. Fish was tasteless Lomo saltado- 6.5/10, bare minimum flavor is there but needed salt and did not have the umami taste to it. Sauce was as super watery. Potatoes where fine Green sauce is as good but had an interesting tang that can’t tell if it was good or bad This just looks like a spot where people have Peruvian food for the first time and like it.   I’ve had my eye on this restaurant for quite a while, and I finally made the move and decided to eat at Harlemite, but unfortunately I was let down. The service was pleasant, and our waitress was so chipper. However, the food came out in staggered order. My meal came first without my side order, and my partner’s meal didn’t come out until I was halfway done with my meal. Her sides did not come out with her meal until later, and she waited for her sides just like I did. Our food was also lukewarm. My Peruvian chicken was delicious, but it was very dry, and it was the first time I ever had Peruvian chicken so damn dry before, and I was very dismayed that the chef used canned scallops for my partner’s ceviche. The hard pieces of floating corn in the ceviche didn’t make much sense, but the ceviche in itself was delicious. Again, the food tastes good, but they are using canned food, and your food comes out randomly with missing sides that you will eat later, like you ordered dessert. I won’t be going back cause the experience and the food were mid-tier.
