  Favorite restaurant in NYC! I really loved the vaca frita plate and the rice and beans that came with it, as well as the empanadas. The maduros were my absolute favorite

  We’re visiting the city, and discovering Guantanamera Cuban Cuisine was truly a gift! We ended up coming back to this restaurant several nights, and every visit was absolutely wonderful. The food was a 100/10, the service & staff was outstanding, and the live music was such a wonderful bonus. The warm, authentic Cuban atmosphere made us feel like we were back in Cuba for a little while. 🇨🇺❤️ We highly recommend this place if you’re looking for delicious Cuban food, exceptional service, and an unforgettable atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!

  Guantanamera is one of my favorite place in the Central Park South area. The wife and I probably would go at least once every month or two. It’s also the place we recommend to visitors who want to have a good time but don’t want to spend the fortune. Authentic Cuban food, Cuban atmosphere and even Cuban music in the evenings. What more could you asked for.

  Google says Guantanamera is open. Guantanamera, however, has apparently chosen a different reality. We arrived ready to eat. Doors closed. Lights out. Not a mojito in sight. Look, I’m Gen X. I grew up drinking from garden hoses, survived cigarette smoke in restaurants, rode in the back of station wagons without seatbelts, and spent entire afternoons roaming the neighborhood with no adult knowing where I was. I can handle disappointment. But if Google Maps says you’re open, I expect at least the basic illusion of commerce. Instead, we stood outside staring through the windows like the opening scene of a low-budget zombie movie. Is everyone okay? Was there a coup? Did the staff all get raptured? Did I miss a handwritten sign explaining that Mercury is in retrograde and therefore lunch has been canceled? I have questions. The food may be incredible. I wouldn’t know. The restaurant was closed. ⭐️⭐️ for maintaining an air of mystery and reminding me once again that trust is a mistake.

  It was our first time visiting this place, and we were pleasantly surprised to find live salsa and bolero music on a Monday night. My husband and I had an incredible evening. The musicians were extremely talented and made us feel so welcome, they even let us request songs, which made the experience even more special. We both had the sangria, which was delicious, along with a few appetizers. Everything was excellent, and this place has quickly become one of our favorite spots. The staff was also incredibly friendly and attentive. We can't wait to come back!
