- SHSungjun HongSep 29, 20262.0I had a very frustrating experience at this location today, September 29, on National Coffee Day. Dunkin was offering Rewards members a free medium hot or iced coffee with a purchase through the Dunkin app. I purchased a half-dozen donuts and ordered a medium iced coffee, specifically expecting to use this promotion. Before leaving, I asked the woman staff whether the coffee was free, and she told me that it was. However, my receipt clearly showed that I had been charged $4.55 for the coffee. The total was $12.94, paid with two gift cards—$10.00 from one and $2.94 from another. When I pointed this out, she first told me that I had only paid $2.94, which made no sense because the receipt clearly showed both gift card charges. Then she changed her explanation and said the free-coffee promotion was no longer available because the time had passed, even though the National Coffee Day offer was valid today. Another men staff was eventually called over and explained that the free-coffee offer had not been applied. If that was the issue, it should have been explained to me at checkout, especially since I specifically asked whether the coffee was free and was told that it was. I eventually asked for a refund because I didn’t want to argue any further, and they gave me the coffee price back in cash. The $4.55 itself was not the main issue. What was frustrating was being told the coffee was free, being charged for it anyway, and then receiving multiple contradictory explanations instead of a clear explanation and a simple correction. Very disappointing customer service.
