- EEEmpathySep 8, 20261.0I go to this dunkin often and usually never have problems but this one time, my first time coming in since they renovated, was horrible 😭. I come in like 20 minutes before closing, and I order. Around 6:45, they shut the lights off in the entire store, when they still have 15 minutes left of being open, shutting us and the rest of the customers off of light. Then, they already proceed to close up, and throwing things out. Before they started throwing out the donuts, I told one of them, “oh don’t throw that rack out, because I ordered a donut on there,” and she starts throwing the donuts out. And then I keep repeating it and she throws the rack which has my donut, while looking me straight in the face when I’m telling her this! And then I tell her “hey I ordered a donut on that rack,” and she goes “what? When did you order?” I told her 15 minutes ago (her other coworker took my order and was literally working on the rest of my order behind her)and she’s saying she never saw it. She then asked her co worker behind her if I did order a donut and her co worker affirmed that I did 😭😭. And she goes to me and says “why didn’t you tell me?” As if I didnt say it to her face before she started throwing the racks of donuts out 😭😭. They compensated me with free food and a drink but were annoyed to do so as if I didn’t order my food 15 minutes beforehand and told the woman I ordered a donut too 😭😭 (Photo below is them closing lights before closing time)

BUT I will say that the renovation is so sad. The old shop was this quirky weird bright social gathering space that randomly had a Baskin Robbins (literally never saw anyone order or eat ice cream) and the new place is a millennial grey prison style wasteland. This is not at all a criticism of the lovely franchise owners but more of a comment on where we’re going as a culture: have we given up on color in the name of efficiency?
