Good was great! Service was really good but a little slow. Not sure if they short staffed or if they just got busy for a Wednesday night.

We used to frequent the Del Frisco’s Grille on Long Island before it closed several years ago, so when we found ourselves in Rockefeller Center, we decided to dine here with high expectations based on what we had come to know and love about the brand. Unfortunately, the experience was a major disappointment. The location is excellent, and the restaurant itself is a beautiful space. Service was fine, but nothing particularly memorable. We came for Sunday brunch at noon, yet it was immediately apparent that the full dinner menu was being pushed. We actually had to ask for the Sunday brunch menu, which should have been offered automatically given the day and time. We also knew it was Restaurant Week as we saw their menu online, but it was never mentioned or offered to us. We weren’t planning to order from the RW menu anyway since we had specifically liked what they had on their brunch menu, so we didn’t ask for it. However, the fact that the RW menu wasn’t even mentioned, coupled with the brunch menu not being offered upfront was very telling about their overall strategy. I became immediately aware, and started observing that the few tables that came in after us were also seated without the brunch menu, so it shows that it was not simply an oversight when we were seated. The brunch menu itself was several pages in a beautiful binder format, so it goes to show that at one time, they valued their brunch and were proud to offer it. The restaurant didn’t have a lot of other diners, with perhaps only six or seven other tables occupied, which certainly made us wonder if our experience was an isolated one. Unfortunately, the food was nowhere near as good as we remembered. The deviled egg appetizer was good, and the hummus itself was delicious, but the pita served with the hummus was stale. While it initially appeared crisp, it became noticeably chewy as we ate it, almost as if stale pita had simply been toasted and topped with seasoning. The sliced steak sandwich was bland, and the au jus was so salty that dipping the sandwich into it actually made it worse. The avocado toast was particularly disappointing: three halves of whole avocado simply placed on top of three slices of stale toast. The avocado wasn’t sliced or seasoned particularly well, and the toast was so hard and stale that I could barely cut through it even with a knife. Overall, this was nothing like the Del Frisco’s Grille we remembered and certainly not what we had expected. Between the lackluster overall service, the odd brunch experience, and food that was largely unimpressive, we left disappointed. Sadly, based on this visit, we have no reason to return again.

Incredibly disappointed in our experience. Spent a family weekend in NYC with a steak dinner Sunday night as the finishing touch and it flopped. My daughter ordered the $60 Filet Medium-Rare, it came out well done. I ordered the $79 Dry-Aged Strip steak... I have had many a dry aged strip steak, and that wasn't one of them. I would have sent them back but we had a timed entry after dinner and it took so long to get the food in the first place, we simply didn't have time. The waiter was inattentive and seemed more concerned with socializing with other staff as well as a couple friends that came in from the street... I think he "checked" on us a total of 3 times all meal, and the restaurant was about 1/3 full- he had 3 tables max. After giving us the check he came by 2-3 times alone just to "top-off" our water and make sure we didn't need anything else... get that face time as I'm filling in the tip amount I suppose- it didn't work. All in all a let down... a $400 meal for 3 people should simply be better. Won't be going back there and if your reading this- save yourself the waste of time and $.
