    Service by the Tony’s was impeccable and the atmosphere is terrific. Food was great but was under-seasoned except for the sushi. Only reason I have 4 stars is because the food could have been so much better if properly seasoned. Will definitely return!

    On two occasions recently I’ve been extremely disappointed by the communication from the restaurant. Made a booking after calling and asking if there was outdoor seating as I’m with a newborn who is unvaccinated. I was told it was first come first served. Arrived 45 minutes later and was told the rooftop was closed for an event. Had to make alternative arrangements. Made a booking on another occasion and exchanged via message with the hostess, was very explicit that we needed an outdoor table and I would not be able to eat indoors. Arrived shortly after and found out that the rooftop was closed. Just don’t understand why they can’t communicate this rather than waste peoples time. I won’t be returning.

    I’ve been to Catch NYC before and have always had a great experience, but I have to give a special shoutout to Ariel for truly going above and beyond for us Saturday night. We had a 9:30 reservation and, after a completely hectic day in the city, I mistakenly thought I had changed it to 10:30. We ended up arriving an hour late, right around the time the kitchen was getting ready to close. Instead of turning us away or making us feel rushed, Ariel was incredibly kind and accommodating. Before our table was even ready, she brought us menus and helped get our food order in so we wouldn’t miss the kitchen. By the time we sat down, all we had to do was order drinks and actually enjoy the rest of our night. The food was phenomenal, the service was amazing as always, and we even got to have dessert. What could have easily turned into us scrambling to find somewhere else to eat late on a Saturday night ended up being such a great experience because of her. Ariel truly went above and beyond, and that kind of hospitality deserves to be recognized. Thank you for taking such good care of us — we’ll absolutely be back!

    Amazing experience at Catch! The food and atmosphere were incredible. A special thank you to Steve, who took care of us all night and was absolutely amazing — so kind, attentive and helpful. Brian was also wonderful and made sure everything that came to our table was perfect. And a big thank you to Savannah and Izzy at the front desk for being so welcoming and making us feel so well taken care of from the moment we arrived. Everyone was incredibly kind and made our last night in New York so special. ❤️

    tl;dr - Feels like it's back, and better than before. Note: We enjoyed ourselves so much that we went back AGAIN a month later. After a renovation, Catch made a smart move. They brought back some of the classics that made this place a downtown institution, and layered in some new flair without losing what made it special in the first place. The result is a real win, and honestly, the whole night felt like a small celebration of the restaurant finding its footing again. We were blown away by the recommended sushi to start. Fresh, clean, exactly what you want a sushi program to feel like at a spot like this. Then the bread arrived, and I have to be honest, it was exceptional. Truly one of the highlights of the entire meal, which is a strange thing to say about bread, but it earned it. We also got the Hamachi Crudo, which was excellent, bright and delicate with the kind of balance that lets the fish speak for itself. The Miso Glazed Sea Bass was exceptional. It's one of those dishes that sounds simple on paper but requires real precision to actually pull off, and this kitchen nailed it completely. The Lobster Mac and Cheese was delicious, rich in the way you want a dish like that to be without tipping over into too much. And the Catch Roll delivered exactly as promised, a confident, well-balanced roll that felt like a genuine signature item rather than an afterthought. We had to try the viral dessert everyone has been talking about, the Hit Me chocolate cake. It's decadent in the best possible way, layered and rich, but somehow doesn't feel heavy by the end. We also got the warm ricotta donuts, and they honestly held their own right next to it, which says something given how good the chocolate cake was. Overall this was a phenomenal experience from start to finish. You can tell this is a restaurant that comes from the minds behind Corner Store and The 86. There's a real point of view here, and it shows in every course. Truly blown away, and genuinely excited to see what they do next.
