I just want to say I had an amazing time at Bubba Gump Shrimp! 🦐 The food was absolutely amazing, but it wasn’t just the food that made my experience so great. The service was fast, and all of the workers were friendly and welcoming. I especially want to recognize one particular worker, Marlon. He was extremely welcoming, kind, and showed genuine gratitude toward us. His positive attitude really stood out and made the experience even better. Overall, I had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend Bubba Gump Shrimp! ❤️

Our experience at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. did not start off well. We did not know who our server was until we had to ask 3 separate employees. By the time our server came, we had already been sitting there for 20mins with not even a glass of water. When she finally came, she reluctantly took our order with an air of arrogance and without a smile. She didn't even respond to the fact that she left the previous patron's bill on the table (btw, they didn't tip. If their server was this woman, I don't blame them). It took another 15 minutes to get our water, not because she remembered (because I watched her just mozying around like a toddler not talking to anyone), but because we had to get up and go to the bartender ourselves to get water. It took another 40mins after placing our order to actually get our food, again, not because our server was attentive, but because a different server, Viami, saw us dehydrated and starving. Viami was amazing and the only reason my rating is a 2 star instead of a 1 star. She checked on our food, brought it out to us, and was very friendly. It wasn't until the end of the meal that we found out that our initial unattentive "server" was actually the manager, which explains a lot since she wasn't wearing a uniform, a nametag, and cared about giving good service. I watched this short manager in a plain green shirt, and curly brown hair seat 3 tables, give them menus but not a single person got water. Again, we had to take the initiative to even pay for our meal. We might as well should have made the food ourselves with all the legwork we put in just to eat. That being said, the food was actually pretty good. We had the New England clam chowder, mama blue's shrimp gumbo, and shrimp shack mac n'cheese. Would I go back again and risk getting the manager as a server again? Nope. The view of Times Square was nice though. You know what else is nice? Water. Thank you for your attention on this matter.

I’ve been sitting on this review for a couple days now because while everything was good it could have been better, and I’m not mad about it which confuses me and has made rating this place hard. First, checking in for our reservation was bizarre, when you walk in it’s a gift shop and you really have to question if you’ve gone in the wrong door. Then when you make it up the stairs there’s a roped line and someone calling for people almost like you’re on line for a ride at an amusement park…3 people? 1? 4?. But when you actually make it into the restaurant itself it’s cute/kitchy and there’s lots of space which is unusual for a New York restaurant let alone one in Times Square. The table was nice although we did wait a while for a server but our pleasant conversation kept my usual annoyance at bay. Now, this is where it gets a little weird. Our server was very polite and nice when taking our order but missed some key points in service such as asking/bringing us water, and neglecting to bring us silverware even after our steaks were delivered. My sister and I are barbarians who have no problem eating with our hands so again I should have been mad but I wasn’t! I asked for my steak Medium and it definitely wasn’t, it also actually tasted and looked like a pork steak I had a few weeks ago which really threw me. However, it was juicy and quite delicious so again I was not upset. My margarita was tasty and my sister and niece enjoyed their drinks and food as well and we had a great time catching up. So, take from this what you will because I’m still confused myself as nothing was bad but it definitely didn’t feel like a normal dining experience.

The Bubba Gump Shrimp Company is an astounding casual seafood restaurant chain that offers guests delicious salmon, fried shrimp and scampi, well made Southern comfort favorites, such as Dixie style baby back ribs, fried fish and chips, and first class customer service. Founded in 1996 and based in Houston, Texas, the Bubba Gumpa Shrimp Co. has multiple locations throughout the world. Inspired by the 1994 film, Forrest Gump, the restaurant was named for the film’s characters, Benjamin Buford "Bubba" Blue and Forrest Gump. During the film, Bubba convinces Gump to invest and operate in the shrimping business. In July of 2026, I brought and treated my wife and myself for dinner at Bubba Gump Shrimp, specifically the branch based in Times Square of Midtown Manhattan, New York and we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience!!! We were kindly welcomed and warmly treated by the restaurant’s staff, and we were quickly provided with a very comfortable and spacious dining table. Since our table was positioned alongside one of the restaurant’s large window, my wife and I had awesome views of Broadway, and enjoyed seeing the bustling crowds, the numerous street action and the gorgeous neon and digital advertising featured throughout Times Square. Our server, Sophie, was very courteous and was a consummate professional. She did a fabulous job on detailing the various meal options on the menu, perfectly addressed all of our inquiries and would routinely come to our table to make sure that we were having a great time and that our needs were met. We thank Sophie for her great service and wonderful hospitality!!! In addition to the great service, what also captivated the attention of my wife and myself was the restaurant’s incredible atmosphere, most notably, its interior settings. The ceilings and walls of Bubba Gump Shrimp are decorated with Forrest Gump memorabilia, ranging from story boards, costume replicas and still photos, and iconic movie quotes are displayed on the walls. Multiple television sets are also positioned throughout the restaurant and they consistently screen clips from the Forrest Gump movie. The most interactive feature is undoubtedly its table signs. The tables feature a two-sided license plate flip sign that lets you signal your server without needing to flag them down. One side of the plate shows “Run Forrest, Run” which indicates that you are in not in need of any service from your server. The other side of the plate shows “Stop Forrest, Stop.” This signals to your server that you need assistance, such as wanting to place an order. Last but certainly not least, both my wife & I found our meal to be absolutely delicious!!! We found our garlic bread appetizer to be quite delightful and scrumptious!!! My wife ordered and very much enjoyed her “Jenny’s Salmon & Shrimp”entree meal & I ordered and loved my BBQ rib entree!!! We found our entree meal to be perfectly cooked, superbly seasoned, and unquestionably gratifying!!! Both my wife and I had an incredible dining experience at Bubba Gump Shrimp and highly recommend for everyone to visit and dine at this outstanding seafood restaurant!!!

This place is absolutely stellar from it's large size, courteous staff and plentiful food. This place is more than just a gimmick from a well established movie from the 90s. Going inside the place I was expecting a restaurant. It's there, but it's on the 2nd floor. When you step in it's a gift store with tons of memorabilia from the Forrest Gump movie. Didn't feel like spending money on merchandise but there are a lot of tourist gifts and even some things to catch my eye. Going up to the 2nd floor, the place is vast as the eye can see, almost as if the restaurant has claimed the entirety of the 2nd floor of the building. I was greeted by the waitress Giselle who is an absolute delight and very courteous. While I was waiting for my food she gave me and 2 other patrons sitting at the table aside from mine a pop quiz on the movie which was a fun time killer while waiting on food. I ordered the Shrimp Po'boy, Fries, chocolate brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top and a Coke Zero and all that completely filled me up proper. The food was absolutely incredible. The Po'boy was rather enormous to eat but I managed to finish it, as well as the fries. I kinda struggled to finish my Dessert because I was already feeling full halfway through it. It was so good, I didn't wanna let it go to waste. I had a nice lunch here, of course like most restaurants in the city, it's pricey but I say it's well worth it.
