Boqueria at AC Hotel Times Square has the potential to be a great experience, but unfortunately ours was overshadowed by a frustrating payment and hotel credit issue. To start with the positives, the service from our server was genuinely outstanding. The staff was friendly, attentive, professional, and made us feel welcomed throughout the meal. The non-alcoholic “Forget Me Not” drink was also excellent and ended up being the highlight of the dining experience. Unfortunately, the food itself was disappointing. We ordered the Gambas al Ajillo and the crispy calamari, both of which were noticeably underseasoned and lacked flavor. Had we known we would ultimately be paying out of pocket, we honestly would have sent both dishes back. The biggest issue, however, was the confusing and poorly coordinated payment process between the restaurant and the hotel. We were staying at the AC Hotel Times Square and had been given a $50 hotel food and beverage credit due to an issue during our stay. We specifically chose to eat at Boqueria because we were told the credit could be used at the hotel restaurants. When it came time to pay, we asked to charge the meal to our room. Our server informed us that instead we needed to scan the QR code receipt and bring it to the front desk afterward for reimbursement or application of the credit. We followed those instructions exactly. Later, the hotel front desk refused to honor the credit because the meal had not been directly charged to the room. After returning home, hotel management essentially told us there was nothing they could do, despite the fact that we had simply followed the instructions given by the restaurant staff. So while the hospitality from the restaurant team was excellent, the overall experience was ruined by an incredibly frustrating payment system and complete miscommunication between the restaurant and hotel management. Perhaps because it was a busy Saturday night, the food was quite unspectacular. With so many amazing dining options in New York City, I would strongly encourage future guests to clarify all billing and hotel credit policies in advance.

I was walking to go to another restaurant I wasn’t particularly excited to eat at, but it was one of few that I found acceptable in close proximity open later. On my walk, I passed this location and boy am I happy I found it. The food was spectacular and drinks were exactly what I was looking for. Nate was my server for this evenig and he guided a few of my choices expertly. Such a kind and welcoming gentleman. Definitely recommend coming here with friends!

It's quite spacious and modern inside, although the seatings between each table can be tight. Services can be slow, but the servers are very friendly. I find some of the tapas dishes are overly priced and overly seasoned. My favorite dishes are the meat dishes, especially the skirt steak and the pork. If you want to save a few bucks, don't pay your bill using the QR code the server gave you; the platform charges $3.5 for fee. WTH :(

Boqueria was genuinely one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in New York City. We came in after booking through Resy, and even though they let us know they were switching over to OpenTable, the staff was extremely polite and still honored our reservation without any issue. The food was amazing, especially the croquettes. The drinks were excellent as well, and the overall atmosphere made for a perfect lunch. What really stood out was how the management went above and beyond for my girlfriend’s birthday. They surprised her with a treat and even brought out a complementary sangria for her next visit to help us celebrate. This definitely made the experience feel extra special. We’ll definitely be back next time we visit NYC, and we’re also excited to check out the Boston location in the Seaport now that we know they have one there also. All in all, this was an amazing experience, and I’m very glad we chose Boqueria for lunch today.

I’ve been hew a few times over the past few years and theres been a sharp decline in quality. The first time I came, the octopus was super tender and came in a delicious lobster reduction sauce. Now it is tough and is served over plain mashed potatoes. A similar story applies to their other dishes. The final straw was that the last time I went, the paella had no socarrat. Overall the food is fine enough, although mediocre. But for the price there are many better options in the city. I recommend going elsewhere
