It is more a fast food place than a tapas bar or a restaurant. We ordered our cocktail and the food. EVERYTHING came at once all together. Typically we like to have our cocktail with maybe one vegetable tapas, then some white wine with the fish tapas; then some red wine with the meat… you know a Saturday night nice diner. We ended up eating everything with our cocktail :/ I told the waiter that this was disappointing and his excuse was that this is how it works in Spain… I lost it because I go to Spain quite often and typically in tapas places you order some food with the drinks then order for more. It is a slow chill service mode. If you wanna do it the Spanish way you should explain it that it is an “order as you eat” kind of menu. The food was good though. Just be smart and order gradually, we were in and out in 30 min on a Saturday night. It was sad.

The food was honestly really good, but this ended up being one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in NYC. When we checked in, the host already seemed annoyed. We had mentioned in our reservation that we’d prefer a corner table if possible, so I just politely asked if there was any chance of that. She immediately gave attitude and said, “We don’t do that. I know you requested it, but we don’t do that.” Totally understand if requests can’t be accommodated, but the way she responded felt really rude and unnecessary. Then before the paella came out, another staff member came over asking us to clear space and combine plates. Since it was our first time there, we asked how much space he needed because we genuinely wanted to make sure we were doing it right. Instead of just explaining, he got visibly irritated and kept repeating “the paella is coming, you need to make space” while grabbing plates and moving things around. It happened multiple times and honestly felt really uncomfortable and stressful. The host later came over and tried to smooth things over by saying they were busy and that maybe he didn’t understand what we were asking, but the whole attitude from the staff throughout the night was just not okay. Again, the food was great, but service and hospitality matter too. Definitely not an experience I’d want to repeat.

Terrible food at this location. My stomach hurt after eating here. Only 1 waiter (don't leave your team on their own), staff loud on phone discussing business problems where diners were eating, old food served, sad ambience. In a tourist trap area of restaurants.

We came here for a group dinner and happy hour. I was very thankful they were able to accommodate us on a Friday night with a day or so notice. Happy hour food and drinks were great, there were 8 of us and we did order a bunch of dinner items off the menu and additional drinks. Some members of our group joined a bit later and service overall was great and attentive. Downsides were tight spaces between the tables and noise made it hard to even talk to someone across from you. Our chairs kept getting bumped, just the layout I guess..also shortly after 8pm there definitely was a firm push for us to get moving fast. I get having the 2 hour table reservations, but also didn't see any groups waiting when we left. Staff were pulling our water glasses we were drinking from and some people were finishing up alcoholic drinks.

Boqueria Flatiron is exactly what a tapas night should be. Arrive during happy hour and start with the mini martinis, Classic, Dirty, or Espresso, all shaken to perfection The food delivers. Pan con tomate set the tone, Jamón and Mushroom Croquetas were rich and addictive, and the Brussels Sprouts with Ibérico vinaigrette nailed that sweet-savory-crispy balance. The Gambas al Ajillo arrived in a gorgeous garlic and brandy bath, the kind you mop up with every piece of bread on the table. We did. Churros Clásicos with a birthday sparkler closed it out perfectly. Our server Wendy was a genuine standout. Attentive, warm and super knowledgeable, She steered us exactly right all night. Go with friends. Order widely. Start at happy hour.
