This review is limited to one item: what they call “granita”. My wife had mango, and I had a honeydew one. The colors were suspiciously intense, the amount of sugar reminded of the drinks for glycemic curve tests, and the taste felt far from real fruits. I would never call this a “granita” for a place that takes pride in having italian roots. Baked goods looked good, so I want to reiterate that this review is limited to their granita.

I came just as this bakery opened one February morning. I had heard of it and was entranced by the great reviews of this place. When I went inside I was truly overwhelmed by how fabulous it was. In a moment of indecision, I chose a donut (not my favorite one I've had) but resolved to come back next year when I had more budget to spend and get something even better. From the place, I don't believe I will be disappointed (plus my friends visited later that same day and said it was amazing)!

We visited 2 different locations in Manhattan. The first location was excellent, with the counter lady even giving me a hot green tea beverage after hearing me wish I would've gotten the tea instead of OJ. But the 2nd location which was close to our hotel, The New Yorker, was differently not as good.

The bakery is great; however twice they overcharged my credit cardand even though I put no tip given the terrible service, I noticed they charged my credit card 20% tip. I tried to resolve this with the store, but they were non-responsive. Update: The store manager reached out to me and refunded my money along with a gift card to use at the store to experience the service. Will update next time I get a chance to go.

The croissants are delicious. My favorites were the tangerine and the pistachio. The space is small, but there is another seating area upstairs. The 4 pastry combo is a good deal considering how much they cost individually. The doughnuts were fine, but I am not a fan of the granulated sugar on the outside. I think it would be better if they used powdered sugar. The grainy texture was just odd somehow. I wish we had one of these near my home. If I am ever back in town, I would definitely come again. Absolutely recommend.
