We hit a few pizza joints while we were in NYC over the weekend and were disappointed because we felt they didn't live up to the hype. We found Abitino's just by a random search while we were in the area. All of their pizza was great. The entire family loved it. The Sicilian and Grandma's Slice was amazing.
We stopped by Abitino’s Pizza in the Financial District and really enjoyed it. There was a great selection of pizzas displayed at the counter, so it was fun to look at all the different choices before deciding what to order.
The pizza had a nice crispy crust, plenty of toppings, and was very satisfying after walking around Lower Manhattan. The casual atmosphere also made it easy to visit with kids.
It’s a convenient spot for a quick and tasty New York-style pizza near the World Trade Center and 9/11 Memorial area. We would happily come back again.
This is the worst gluten-free crust we've ever had. It was doughy, so we thought it hadn't baked enough. They put it back in the oven for a few minutes, but it was still mushy, so we just scraped off the toppings (which were not that good) at the cramped shelf along the wall and dumped the rest. $36 for a mostly inedible pizza.
