- KGKim Garveytoday1.0I had a very disappointing experience at this Dunkin this morning. I was using the self-service kiosk and needed assistance because there wasn’t anywhere to scan my Dunkin rewards. After the cashier finished assisting a customer, I politely asked her for help, but she looked at me and walked away without responding. I asked again when she came closer after a little while and she told me she was coming. Instead, she proceeded to handle several other orders while I stood there waiting, even though there were multiple other workers doing the orders. What made the situation even more frustrating was that she eventually returned to the counter directly beside the kiosk and began assisting another customer, completely ignoring me and the fact that I had been waiting for help. At that point, I expressed my frustration, and only then did she tell me that the kiosk doesn’t accept free rewards. First of all, I had never even explained what I was trying to redeem, and I was also purchasing another item. If anything, couldn’t she have simply said that the very first time I asked for help? Or even directing me to the register from the beginning would have avoided this entire situation. I turned around and left. Not supporting any business treating me like that. As the only Black customer there at the time, I couldn’t help but question why I was repeatedly overlooked while other customers continued receiving service. I cannot speak to her intentions, but the experience certainly left me feeling singled out and disrespected. Customer service is not just about preparing orders. It’s also about acknowledging customers, communicating respectfully, and treating everyone with the same level of consideration. I was patient and respectful until it became clear that my requests for assistance were being disregarded. No customer should have to repeatedly ask to be acknowledged or assisted. Very disappointing experience.
