BakeryGluten-Free Restaurant
Since 1987, Meredith's Country Bakery has produced handmade and preservative-free breads, rolls, cakes, cookies, pies and preserves from scratch. Family owned and operated, what began as a small bakery made up of only 10 products has quickly grown into a company providing a selection of over 180 quality baked goods including organic, sugar-free and gluten-free.
As one of the founding members of The Pride of New York program, we strive to support local agriculture by sourcing quality ingredients from farms and producers in New York State when available, and attend up to 50 farmers markets a week during our peak season as our main point of sale.
All gluten-free products are made in our designated gluten-free facility with it's own equipment, staff and certified gluten-free ingredients. Our recipe development process understands the role of nostalgia and emotional connection as it relates to the consumer experience.
The act of baking is known the world over as a form of expression and source of comfort. In an age of rapid and impersonal food processing we value basic fundamentals, setting creative intentions and using minimal production equipment. The mission of our bakery is to create delicious and full-bodied products using time honored practices without the use of chemicals, preservatives or fillers.

Their mini pies of unsweetened fruit are actually unsweetened and they even have stuff like rugelach and black and white cookies! They also sell quiches and so many other baked goods. Lovely to see them and hope to find them again.

- RJRuwan J.Jul 6, 20265.0((4.5 stars)) Meredith's Bakery is a Hudson Valley bakery that appears at many of NYC's greenmarkets from Union Square to Chelsea to Columbia University. stopped by their bakery stand at the Union Square Greenmarket year-round (Wednesdays only). this one of the larger tented stands where a variety of traditionally baked, gluten-free, and sugar-free items. the hand-made preservative-free baked goods are neatly arranged from breads cookies to pies to scones and more. ingredient lists are stickered on packaging, so you can check for allergens and such. ended up stopping here before the Greenmarket closed, so pickings were pretty thin and this bakery stand is fairly popular. ended up getting a pack of four small oatmeal raisin cookies and even though that isn't a go-to cookie for me...the cookie was very good. the oatmeal cookie was firm on the outside with a moist, chewiness on the inside. the cookie has a nice texture and clean flavor to it --the balanced sweet taste from the brown sugar and raisins with hits of cinnamon and almost caramel-like notes. tbh, if this bakery can make a good oatmeal raisin cookie, then the rest of cookies and such are more than likely really good, too. the service was quick and friendly-ish. definitely would recommend stopping by this Meredith’s Bread at any of the greenmarkets in the city.
