What an absolute gem. Mambo is my go-to for date night; the food is indulgent but not heavy, the atmosphere is cozy and friendly, and everything hits (wine/beer, app, main, dessert). Dani also hosted a Saturday brunch for our group of 15. The spread was top-notch (homemade focaccia, homemade ricotta, charcuterie, olives, tomato salad, roasted cauliflower, octopus, roast beef crostini, and an assortment of beautifully paired and interesting wines). Plenty of gluten-free and vegetarian options to boot! With the beautiful weather, our group split time between the lovely backyard and the main bar. Always looking forward to the next visit!

My wife and stumbled upon this place driving down Main Street in Irvington. The space and vibe make you feel like you traveled to Italy and are eating at a local, family joint. We've now been back twice and I'm taking a friend next week. The food is insanely good - we had the cauliflower with a black bean yogurt sauce (5 stars), caesar salad (5 stars -- and I'm picky), lasagna, fettuccini with anchovies, lemon and honey, and at a later visit two of their daily specials (all excellent). The owner/chef introduced herself and was also serving the food, which felt so intimate and special. I struggle with some of our restaurant choices in Westchester - we pay a premium for some places that would struggle to stay open in NYC's competitive restaurant landscape. I'm giddy and proud to have this place in our own backyard. It's exceptional and lives up to any neighborhood restaurant in the city where you'd usually need a reservation and have to still wait an hour. I can't wait to bring more guests here. Please visit - you won't be disappointed.

Nestled right on Main Street in downtown Irvington, Mambo Italiano delivers the unpretentious warmth and rustic charm of an authentic neighborhood Italian trattoria. This small spot balances traditional comfort food with refined, homemade execution. Atmosphere & Service The dining room is intimate, warm, and inviting—the kind of place where staff treat first-timers like regulars and the owners frequently step out to chat through the menu. With its historic downtown backdrop and relaxed village energy, it works just as well for a casual weeknight pasta fix as it does for an anniversary dinner. Food Highlights The kitchen shines brightest where house-made standards are concerned. > Antipasti: The Burrata served over fresh arugula, tomatoes, and warm, olive-oil-drizzled focaccia is a standout start. For something unique, the Honey Ricotta with pomegranate molasses offers a sweet-savory punch. > Primi: homemade pasta is the star of the menu. The hand-rolled Tagliatelle with Beef Bolognese—crowned with a dollop of fresh, house-made ricotta—is rich, slow-simmered, and perfectly al dente. The Orecchiette with savory sausage, bitter broccoli rabe, and hot cherry peppers in a white wine sauce offers a balanced kick. > Secondi: The Chicken Scarpariello delivers big, comforting Hudson Valley flavor—tender dark and white meat roasted with sausage, crisp potatoes, and tangy sweet/hot cherry peppers in a rosemary-infused white wine reduction. > Drinks & Dessert The wine list is thoughtfully curated, pairing classic Italian reds with crisp European whites. Cap off the meal with their homemade gelato or a shot of espresso. Mambo Italiano captures the spirit of classic Italian hospitality: homemade food cooked with care, warm service, and a welcoming setting. It’s a standout addition to the Rivertowns dining scene.

Our second visit to Mambo did not disappoint. The watermelon, cucumber/red onion/mango salad was so fresh! The roasted cauliflower app almost melts in your mouth. There were 5 of us and everyone enjoyed their dishes, including the short ribs of polenta and the eggplant tower. I got a special pasta entree, with nduja sausage and lemon pesto - what a wonderful combination of bright citrus and a bit of smoky, spicy heat from the sausage. And the gelato!!!! Even though I really shouldn't do dairy, their pistachio gelato is damn-near worth the tummy woes. We also had a pitcher of white sangria that went really well with the meal. Owners Dani and Ana know what they are doing. It is a small venue, so make reservations and mangia!

Awesome local Italian restaurant who prides itself with fresh imported ingredients. Amazing fresh foccaccio bread, arugula salad, pastas (especially my favorite shrimp special) and just all around excellent flavor. The owner Danielle and her wonderful staff are kind and friendly and make the place feel welcoming. Dani and her team catered my daughter’s bday party for over 50+ people which was a memorable success. All the invitees were asking where this is from excited to go back and keep trying more. A true authentic Italian experience, A must try!
