I had one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had at this Dunkin’. This happened on Wednesday, July 8, around 9:40 PM, with about 20 minutes left before closing.
The two employees working that night—an older woman wearing a hijab and a younger woman with glasses and visible tattoos—made us feel unwelcome the moment we walked in. As soon as my friends and I entered, they both sighed and shook their heads as if we were inconveniencing them, even though the store was still open.
Throughout the ordering process, the older employee repeatedly yelled across the counter asking what size we wanted instead of speaking to us respectfully. The younger employee also spoke to us with an attitude.
The biggest issue came when our drinks were made incorrectly. We clearly ordered caramel frozen drinks, but we were handed Oreo Chillers instead. When we politely pointed out the mistake, the younger employee sighed, looked at us, and said, “That’s not what it says on the screen,” before asking, “So you’re not gonna drink this at all?” in a rude tone. After we said no because it wasn’t what we ordered, she walked away and told the older employee. The older employee suggested just mixing caramel into the drinks, while the younger employee responded that she couldn’t do that. They then argued with each other in front of us instead of simply correcting the order.
During the argument, the younger employee made a comment implying that “they don’t know, they don’t work,” referring to us because we were teenagers. That assumption was disrespectful, especially considering all four of us actually have jobs and understand what customer service is supposed to be like.
When we finally received our drinks, it was only about 9:55 PM, and the older employee immediately walked to the front door, opened it, and told us to leave. We weren’t even given a chance to grab straws before being rushed out, despite the store not being closed yet.
Walking in 20 minutes before closing does not excuse treating customers this way. We were polite throughout the entire interaction, but we were met with rude attitudes, an incorrect order, employees arguing in front of customers, disrespectful assumptions, and being pushed out before closing time. This was an extremely unprofessional experience, and I won’t be returning.
