We really wanted to like this restaurant, but unfortunately we never even got the opportunity to try the food. We were seated and then sat at our table for 20 minutes without a single employee coming over to acknowledge us, take a drink order, or let us know someone would be with us shortly.
What made the experience even more disappointing was watching multiple tables around us—including people who were seated after us—be greeted, served drinks, and taken care of while we continued to be completely ignored.
At 9 months pregnant, sitting there waiting that long without so much as being offered a glass of water was especially frustrating. After 20 minutes of being overlooked, we finally decided to leave.
We understand restaurants get busy and would have been completely understanding of a wait, but there’s a big difference between slow service and receiving no service or acknowledgment at all. Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience and not the first impression we had hoped for.
I did attempt to message the business on Facebook before leaving this review to give them the benefit of the doubt but never received a response back.

2nd UPDATE:
Respectfully, tipping is optional—it is not a mandatory charge. Whether you believe $4 was insufficient does not give an employee the right to follow customers to their car, confront them, and demand that they leave more money. Customers are responsible for paying their bill; the restaurant is responsible for paying its employees, including the busboys.
This incident did affect my dining experience because I witnessed it at your establishment. I acknowledged that Brittany provided excellent service, and I tipped her accordingly. My one-star review was based on how uncomfortable and unprofessional it was to watch another customer be confronted after paying their bill and leaving.
You may disagree with the amount they left, but a gratuity remains voluntary. If a specific tip is required, it should be clearly disclosed and added to the bill as a mandatory service charge. Defending this behavior and suggesting that customers are unwelcome for not tipping what you consider acceptable only reinforces the concern expressed in my original review.
UPDATE: Now you’re simply being dishonest about what happened. I personally witnessed the waitress run outside and approach the customers at their car. She asked if everything and the service were okay, then confronted them because they had left a $4 tip on a $96 bill. She told them they needed to tip more because she had to pay the busboys. This was not a misunderstanding—it happened exactly as I described. Trying to deny it only makes the situation even more disappointing and unprofessional.
The food was okay overall, but unfortunately it lacked flavor and wasn’t anything memorable. Our waiter, Brittany, however, was great—very attentive and provided excellent service.
The reason for my 1-star review is what we witnessed as we were leaving. One of the other waitresses ran outside after a group of customers, approached their car, and began yelling at them because she felt they had not tipped her enough. She was visibly upset and told them that she needed to pay the busboys.
I found the entire situation extremely unprofessional, uncomfortable, and distasteful. Customers should never be chased into the parking lot or confronted about the amount they choose to tip. If employees are responsible for tipping out busboys regardless of what customers leave, then I believe that is something management should address through proper compensation—not by confronting customers in the parking lot.
Unfortunately, witnessing this completely changed our impression of the restaurant and is the reason for the one-star rating.
Updated review.
Still a 1 star. Because What I witness was not someone complaining about "the customer being short" but about her only leaving $4 in tip! She was loud and clear so no need to lie. Had it been about that then things would have been different. So therefore I will keep my review the same because after reading many of the responses as well from the low rated reviews, I can already see how disrespectful and unprofessional this place can be.
Overall, the atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice—calming, welcoming, and enjoyable. Our waitress, Brittany, was absolutely wonderful. She was bubbly, friendly, attentive, and made sure we were taken care of throughout our visit.
As for the food, it was good overall. However, my friends and I all agreed that the dishes could have used a little more flavor and seasoning. My personal experience with the food and service during our meal was positive.
Unfortunately, what happened as we were leaving completely changed my experience and ultimately led me to give this restaurant 1 star.
As we were walking out, we witnessed a staff member aggressively confronting a customer who was already in her vehicle and preparing to leave. The employee was yelling at the customer and questioning her about the tip she had left. From what I heard, the customer had left a tip, but apparently the employee felt it wasn't enough.
I understand that tipping is customary and that servers work hard for their money. However, a tip is still at the customer's discretion and is not an obligation. Regardless of the amount, confronting and aggressively yelling at a customer as she is leaving is extremely inappropriate, uncomfortable, and unprofessional.
The employee's attitude, aggression, and the audacity to run outside after a customer over her tip were very disturbing to witness. It was especially disappointing because, up until that point, we had a genuinely good experience.
I sincerely hope management or the owner addresses this situation. If employees feel that their wages are not sufficient without receiving larger tips, perhaps management should consider reviewing their pay structure rather than allowing employees to confront customers over gratuity.
A restaurant can have great food, a beautiful atmosphere, and wonderful servers, but how customers are treated—especially when they are leaving—matters just as much. What we witnessed was extremely distasteful and left a very negative impression on all of us.
NO REASON TO LIE!!
The atmosphere is better than the food! My family and i went to this restaurant not knowing what to expect. The atmosphere is new with the resemblance of a higher scale diner. Thats really all the positive things I can say. The menu is interesting but then the prices hit you. I understand that everything in this world has gone up but pancakes!!!! When we got our food ,the order was completely wrong. My wife ordered her eggs in a wrap ,then the food arrived over a bagel. When we asked the waitress about this , her response was" thats how it comes". The only thing they didn't charge us for was the RANDOM BLACK HAIRS in our food. Then in like the movies , the cook came out from the kitchen to randomly to chat with some of the other patrons. KINDA WEIRD. When the check arrived we had to do a double take. How and why was this so expensive. There is alot of dining options out there but $160 for breakfast is mind blowing. Not to mention the place was very dead considering they just opened a week ago. I hate to blast new restaurants but the village pancake factory needs to improve there game. If they plan on staying around and become the go to for breakfast and pancakes, I hope they can turn things around to be successful....

We were really looking forward to trying this restaurant since it just opened, but unfortunately, our family was very disappointed with both the food and the service.
My husband ordered the West Coast Burger, and the chorizo sausage looked old and had very little flavor. Unfortunately, after eating there, he became very sick and was vomiting and had severe diarrhea for the rest of the day and night.
I ordered the Undecided. I absolutely love pancakes, so when I'm going somewhere called the Pancake Factory, I expected a little more when it came to the pancakes. My meal came with only two very small pancakes. I considered ordering more, but after already spending around $20 on my entrée, I didn't want to spend another $10 just to get more pancakes. I will say that I did enjoy the sausage links.
Our kids weren't impressed either, which says a lot. My daughter didn't eat her chicken tenders because they were soggy. My son enjoyed the mozzarella sticks, but he didn't enjoy his waffle.
The service also could have been much better. After our food was brought out, our waitress never came back to check on us. We then waited about 30 minutes just to get our check. I completely understand that this is a new restaurant and that they were busy, so I expected there might be some growing pains. However, customers should still be checked on at least once after receiving their food, and waiting that long just to get the check was frustrating.
We don't mind paying higher prices when the food and experience are worth it, but unfortunately, for the prices, the portions, food quality, and service just weren't what we expected. We really wanted to like this place, but based on our experience, we would not return.
