I recently had chapli kebab with roti at the JFK branch and had a great experience. I’ve also been to the Elmont location, but the airport branch stood out with better service and more consistent taste. At Elmont, the roti has sometimes been slightly overdone, so the quality hasn’t always been the same. Special thanks to the college guy and Ali bai at JFK for their friendly and attentive service!

I visited this place for weekend brunch buffet for $20. To our surprise, we were the only ones there for the buffet. As we took our table, we were told that we'll be served with fresh puris, which never arrived. The limited number of nuns and the puris already at the buffet station were stale. There were no meat in the Nihari. After a couple of requests, they finally replenished the Nihari just before were done eating. Apart from the halwa and chana, everything tasted like leftover food from the previous days. Also, not having tea with the buffet deal is a deal breaker. Being from Vancouver, Canada, where we have a thriving Halwa Puri brunch buffet scene, we missed it enough to drive 25 minutes each way to relive home experience. Alas, this was disappointing.

Unfortunately, my experience here was concerning. I noticed staff using dirty gloves, touching multiple surfaces, and then serving food without switching gloves or washing hands. This is a major hygiene issue and not something customers should have to worry about. Management needs to take food safety more seriously.
